Ice Speedway On Pulse Tv

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else, had a quick look around and couldn't see it posted anywhere else on the forum.

I was channel hopping yesterday afternoon and came across a satellite station called Pulse TV showing indoor Ice Speedway from the USA.

It was the last round of the Extreme International Ice racing championship featuring speedway as well as quad bikes.

The four Brits taking part were..David Meldrum, Paul Cooper, James Mann and Anthony Barlow.

Meldrum and Cooper and Mann I know, but never heard of Barlow.

The meeting took place at an indoor ice hockey stadium in Arizona. There were alternate speedway and quad bike races, the championship won by Charlie Venegas(?)

I think Anthony Barlow rode for Oxford,Arena Essex and Glasgow in the late 1990s.Think he may have ridden for Hull too, although I may be mistaken.

Probably why I haven't heard his name before. I switched off completely from speedway after the Rockets closed down in 1993 and only switched back on again in 2000 when I discovered by accident that the Rockets had returned!!

I think you'll find this is about two years old, as Pulse appear to have loads of old American TV Sport that never made it to Speed Channel.

James Mann was originally from Bolton as I did a pic of him for them when I used to send them pictures. He now lives in Missouri according to the Speedwaybikes.com website, as does Anthony Barlow.
