I believe Norwegian is closer to Danish written wise, but closer to Swedish spoken wise. I think the three Scandinavian languages are reasonably mutually intelligible though.

Norwegian is quite easy to understand but i find Danish pretty hard. Even though the languages are similar there are differences especially between Swedish/Danish.

Seems things are not looking great.Training has been put back from 10 until 12.And this is what Dryml has to say which doesn't need a translator "- The track is fcuked, konstaterer den tjekkiske kører Lukas Dryml"

More of the story here, but it seems the German guys left the track shale or whatever they use out in the pouring rain so it was totally soaked.I think  So Olsen can't be blamed B)

Seems training has been put back yet again. And there is a Jury meeting going on to decide whether to cancel the meeting. At least for today.Maybe run tomorrow? But that will clash with Poland i think from what Hans was saying....

.

Don't agree.

He's the director, so the buck must stop with him, not a couple of Germans with shovels.

He's shown his incompetence many times before this and it's time BSI / IMG fired him off.

Let's face it, he's been laying temp tracks for 7 years now and he's only got it right on a couple of occasions.

Point taken.

He's still a wayne kerr. Ole that is, not our mutual friend. :approve:

Someone who watched last weekends meeting online said Jason and Nicki were having a real go at Olsen and said "We asked you to take all the crap off the track before heat 1,but you wouldn't listen,Ole" Sums it up i think

Taken from the organisers website:-

Following adverse weather conditions last week and during the construction of the track at VELTINS-Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany, the FIM Jury has decided it is necessary to postpone the 2008 FIM German Speedway Grand Prix due to track safety concerns. The event will now take place on 18 October 2008, at ZKS Polonia Stadium, Bydgoszcz, Poland, at 1900h.

All ticket holders will be refunded their ticket money and, as a gesture of goodwill, will be offered a free ticket to a BSI promoted Grand Prix of their choice in 2009.

In order to obtain their refund, ticket holders must contact the agency from where they purchased their ticket.

Paul Bellamy, Managing Director, BSI Speedway, commented: “We are very sorry for all the fans who have booked tickets and were looking forward to a great night of speedway. If there was any way we could have put this event on we would have, but the decision of the FIM Jury with regard to rider safety is paramount and we fully support this decision.

“We now need to focus on the event next weekend in Bydgoszcz and make sure the final Grand Prix of the season is a great event for everyone involved, in particular the fans.”

The adverse weather conditions prior to the event affected the moisture levels in the dirt and together with the very cold conditions in the stadium the track was unable to dry out sufficiently in order to have a suitable race track.

What's the odds on Gollob picking up a $200,000 cheque next week in Bydgoszcz.

I bet he can't believe his luck.

From a tv viewers perspective it's good news, meeting switched from a poor venue to the mecca. Bring it on.
