crazysue
Amateur hour Really feel for those thatb travelled over.Just spoke to Conkers and he sounds a bit peeved to say the least Yep same here, this was one GP I was going to go to and even had my name down for the coach but couldn't make it in the end. The coach load of Ippo fans are not happy to say the least.....
Jay
Nikki has just text me the same thing Sue, whe wants her airfares and hotel bills paid too. Understandable considering it's quite late notice, they would have realised a lot sooner it wasn't working surely?
Blazeaway
Should be Olsen, but he wont. He's fireproof, appartently. Agreed, surprised the meeting wasn't moved to Vojens
tigerblues
And what about everyone's travel costs, hotels etc? I for one would be mightily peed off at this turn of events..... Agreed! What's the odds on Gollob picking up a $200,000 cheque next week in Bydgoszcz. I bet he can't believe his luck. Just said the same! Well this is a farce to say the least. Shocking. I feel for anyone who's travelled over. I'd be fuming if it was me. Edit - I also wondered why it wasn't moved to Vojens Olsen eh, where will it end. The coach load of Ippo fans are not happy to say the least..... Quite agree Sue. If I had been on any of the trips over,Id be ready to sue their backsides off. Got lots of friends over there. Totally gutted for everyone.
KFCBaby
Just heard from my family (every single memeber of my family has gone apart from me!) in Germany...they are very annoyed to say the least. The stadium has a roof...how can it go this wrong?? We have also been unlucky enough to have gone to the Ullevi GP that was cancelled. If they deal with it the sameway im pretty sure no one will get any other money back for flights and hotels ect.

From a tv viewers perspective it's good news, meeting switched from a poor venue to the mecca. Bring it on. Olsen only has a week to get the track sorted now, can he pull it off for the danes? Amateur hour Really feel for those thatb travelled over.Just spoke to Conkers and he sounds a bit peeved to say the least I know the feeling as I was one of the few that were in Gothenburg when it was postponed. Bought a shirt on that trip for 500sek after spending 350 € for flights and hotel. Was pretty expensive! Honestly, there are a lot of pissed off people at a place that spiegal has described as not so nice. And on top of that Mateusz has promised a riot! Honestly, there is now a realistic 1,8% (this was 111th, 2 have been postponed) chance of Bydgoszs to be postponed too. Have William Hill opened on this yet? Steve Shovlar
As others have said, what a cock up! Unfortunately the people who have travelled all that way to Germany don't have a leg to stand on with getting the hotel/travel expenses paid for. The writing was on the wall yesterday with cancelled practice. This has come as no suprise with the postponement a far better thing to do rather than start the emeting and have another fiasco like Gothenburg. Feel sorry for those that have made the trip out there though.
Jay
I wonder if those that arranged travel insurance will be covered due to the event being cancelled? might be worth looking into??
Jenkie
That's got to be a first - Indoor speedway meeting cancelled because the track is too wet....you couldn't make it up. Having said that, rider safety MUST always come first, and if the track was unrideable and dangerous, then it was right to cancel the meeting. salty
What a farce!!!! Be interesting to see who carries the can for this one! It simply isn't acceptable for Olsen/BSI/IMG to blame the "locals" like they did after Gothenburg. Feel very sorry for all those who made the trip out there. Gollob will be happy about the location for the re-staging though. Hopefully Smolinski gets to keep his wild card spot.
f-s-p
Which is correct here: Track material got wet the week before? or Track got wet last night after they left the roof open? This was said in another thread...
pugwash
It has been mooted to me that it could be a deliberate ploy by the promotion:- Tickets sales reportely to be very poor indeed. (Just a couple of thousand?) Meeting insured for a call off. Polonia Bydgoszcz already lined up for next saturday. City Hotel Bydgoszcz suprisingly fully booked. Guaranteed mega sell out with T Gollob set to pick up $200k. I smell a rat.

pugwash
Latest webcam pic at 13:20 local time shows the grader still going around. Maybe they've got Olsen tied on the back and are dragging him round. The roof does open, it was open at close of play last night and was still open first thing this morning. See DGT's webshots on page 1 of this thread. Edited October 11, 2008 by pugwash

Seriously I feel really sorry for the fans who have made the trip over to Germany. What a mess.
