This meeting is on but its not a junior meeting, all 4 teams are using premier / top end conference riders not raw juniors.

Team From Leicester, Oxfrod, Bristol & Swindon will take part

Leicest will be as far as I know

Sergie Darkin, Simon Lambert Luke Priest + 1 & Adam Lowe as Res

Bristol

Semon Valsov, Mark Simmonds, Andrew Bargh, Jay Hearne + Res

Oxford

Kozza Smith, Kyle Hughes, Jamie Courtney, Lee Smart & Brendan Johnson as Res

Richard Sweatman, Danny Warwick + 2 & 1 Res.

So as you can see no raw juniors.

Richard Sweatman

No wonder he's such a hot property! :P

Tapes up for this meeting is 6pm. Presumably Charlie Saunders will be one of the other Swindon riders?

The details for this meeting can be found on the half page ad inside the back cover of this week's Speedway Star.

But, as I'm the one who has artworked the programme, I can tell you the team line ups as they have gone to print:

1. Cory Gathercole

2. Charlie Saunders

3. Richard Sweetman

4. Danny Warwick

Res: Ben Reid

OXFORD TFSuccess.com CHEETAHS:

2. Kyle Hughes

3. Jamie Courtney

4. Lee Smart

LEICESTER LIONS:

3. Luke Priest

4. Adam Lowe

Res: Mark Thompson

BRISTOL BULLDOGS:

1. Semen Vlasov

2. Mark Burrows

3. Mark Simmonds

4. Gareth Isherwood

Res: Jordan Tyrer

Start time is indeed 6pm. Fingers crossed for some decent weather. Hopefully the meeting attract fans as 3 presently 'homeless' clubs will be in action, and for Swindon fans it's the last meeting of the season at the Abbey Stadium. It's a long winter so please come down and support the meeting!

It will be raced over the traditional 16 heat format plus two extra heats. One for the reserves, which guarantees them a ride, and a final 'nominated' race. Special guests have been invited such as Phil Crump and Les Collins, and I know that Norman Hunter (former Robin and Lions rider) is going to climb back on a bike for a few laps.

And like Nick Andrews has rightly said, there are more than just 'raw juniors' on show so we should see some good racing. Sunday is a case of raising awareness for the 'homeless' clubs and the meeting is being staged by Andy Hewlett (Bristol) and David Hemsley of the Beaumont Sports Complex Ltd (the consortium behind the proposed new site up here in Leicester) so it'd be great if they had a decent turn out as they've put a hell of a lot of work and money into staging the event.

See you there!

Hmm, still a little puzzling...

Does this mean that Weymouth are going into their match (which admittedly is a 'dead rubber') at Rye House this same Sunday afternoon without Lee Smart and Brendan Johnson..??

Love the factthat Buzz and Mark Simmonds are paired up together in a quartet described as a "juniors" side!!:lol:

Woops found it now sorry mods!!

Which just goes to show that it should be IN HERE

How many threads have been started and then moved about CL events

It's not a Testimonial

It's not an Individual

It is a shared event - but it's a CL shared event - not a 'Whatsit' Cup organised between promoters.

I think that any EL, PL or CL event organised by BSPA should be in the relevant CL, PL or EL section...

And I know I'm not the only one

Well Brendan seems ok with getting there from Rye,as does Smart.

They both reckon on about 1.5 hrs.

So long as neither are required in ht15,I think they will be ok.

Blimey Bob, I am not sure I want a lift now will you now be known as Bob 'the Stig' C?? I am a nervous passenger at the best of times. Any chance someone could have me a nerve calming double brandy ready at Swindon!

Tonight's Result from the Abbey:

Swindon 22

Oxford 22

Leicester 27

Bristol 38

I had a prior engagement at Bath races this afternoon, so only arrived at the Abbey in time for Heat 9 of this 4 Team Tournament, but at least I saw the dying embers of Swindon's season. There was a reasonable crowd, swelled by a vociferous group of Bulldogs and a fair smattering of Cheetahs and Lions. Good luck to all 3 with their attempts to follow Exeter's example and get back on the track full-time. :approve:

As for the last 10 heats, Sergei Darkin and Semen Vlasov looked as quick as anyone. Richard Sweetman took the final chequered flag of the campaign, ensuring that Swindon avoided sole ownership of the wooden spoon, and instead shared the spoils with Oxford. Cory Gathercole dropped some unexpected points, hopefully ensuring that he has at least 1 more season in the PL before taking up an expected reserve berth with the Robins in the future?

Finally good to catch up with Matt Davis again; hope that you made it home in time for Peter Kay! B)
