Liontamer
nicki pedersen is going to be responsible for the death of a rider before to long. Nikki had a mare of a meeting, but I think the ref made the right decisions, & he'll still be the world champion. Crump = mardy arse. Congratulations to Hans. Subedei
Flippin' heck. Am I seeing things? The word 'brillianti in reference to Scotty in a Subedei post. The world is suddenly off kilter. It's not unique. I recall saying he was brilliant at the SWC round in Coventry last season. I'm a fair Mongol. Actually, the global superstar hasn't been too bad in recent Grands Prix, but he's still not consequent. What I mean by the is that it still comes down to his final ride in the qualification heats and him needing points, but, more often than not, not getting them. How often does Ht 17 or 18 or 19 or 20 start with the comment "and our Scotty needs a win to stand any chance of making the semis"?
Subedei
Thank you Just out of interest, did Kelvin Tatum MBE and Millard cover their bases by apologising to anyone who understood Polish if Gollob had said any naughty Polish words? Mateusz
PS. Well done to Scotty in that race against Dryml!
tyler42
OK, Gollob did not have to pass Crump, but having said that he passed Crump clean. There was no contact, and it was not Gollob's fault that Jason decided to hit the deck. Are you being serious, when you say there was no contact, or are you just saying that in jest! Phillip Addison
Shocking refereeing again tonight. The only reason he excluded Gollob and not Grumpy was the fact he has already had 3 runs ins with the sulky one. Absolute KARMA in the final though. The comments from the studio too were all biased towards wanting to see the final rounds point tally as close as possible for tv. There was far more contact in the Grump / Pedersen clash than the Gollob/Grump clash, so who was leaning in or putting the bike down or whatever most ? As someone pointed out on tv Grump was going down before he touched Gollobs back wheel. Disgusting decision to exclude Gollob and the only consolation for me was Grumps face on the rostrum. Congratulations Hans Andersen on winning the Italian Grand Prix.
BritPete
OK! fine, that's your opinion. Mine is that the referee should stick to his guns. If he excluded Pedersen then he should have excluded Crump as weel. OK, Gollob did not have to pass Crump, but having said that he passed Crump clean. There was no contact, and it was not Gollob's fault that Jason decided to hit the deck. Lol! No bias there then! Gollob is a hothead, and always has been, and that is why he did not make the final tonight. The ref. was spot on with his decision, so get over it. Mateusz
QUOTE (Rob B @ Sep 27 2008, 11:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do they have different cameras for the Polish feed because there clearly was contact! I'm not saying there wasn't but it was Crump's decision to lie down like a prostitute. Least he had that ef in the final - the only little bit of justice tonight. He should have called the ref after the final and cried a river!

The two crashes were completely different..Crump cleanly passed Nicki, who then tried his best to lean on him as much as possible and paid the price.. However, Gollob just steamed straight up the inside of Crump and clearly took his leg out, so was rightly excluded. Ref got them both spot on.. Felt for Crumpy in the final, but his sulks really get on my nerves..
zonkers
nicki pedersen is going to be responsible for the death of a rider before to long. Totally agree. Have always said his dirty riding will get someone seriously hurt one day. I know he is world number one, and he has got there by being a good rider (God, that was painful typing that!), but you often get the impression that he barges through without a care to the other riders. He is a bad loser and an unbelievable diva.... and he makes me angry like no-one else can...just can't bear to watch him. And just as I'm warming to Crumpy... always such a nice guy.....he goes and gets such a mardy face on on the rostrum. I know he was totally gutted, but to blatantly stand there like he's sucked on a lemon was pathetic. Realistically, even if he had come first, the chances of him beating Nicki by 12 pints in Germany were very very slim. He should have been happy for Hans and Bjarne, and with himself for coming 3rd, and at least cracked half a smile whilst on the podium..... Subedei
I personally though Gollob unlucky to be excluded - he had the line into the corner and Crump bailed out and got a re-run without Gollob. Why did Gollob go for it? Well, you only get points in the final now if you finish on the podium and you've a better chance of that if you have an earlier gate pick. Still, the organisors were probably thinking that Crump would win and that it would make Germany a bit more of a contest for the title. But fate dealt them a blow. The only thing of interest in Germany now is the eighth place battle, which Bjarne Pedersen has now entered.

MARK246
Glad Scotty gave Mr Dribble what for tonight, he deserved it. Also how Holta acted when Nicholls tried the same move on him, just like it was a racing incident. Pure class.

Maybe but I bet Billy Janniro could manage it. Quite a good G.P. tonight and I thought the referee got all his decisions correct. Scott Nicholls was again so frustrating to watch! I'm beginning to agree with KevH about Lukas Dryml and I don't blame Scott for his reaction. Now it won't let me put my bet on Hans.... I will be fuming now if he wins.... So how are you feeling zonkers now that Hans won and you couldn't get your bet on? Edited September 27, 2008 by Gemini

Reviresco
Lol! No bias there then! Gollob is a hothead, and always has been, and that is why he did not make the final tonight. The ref. was spot on with his decision, so get over it. "Gollob is a hothead, and always has been". Oh My God, what a load of rubbish. Tomasz is one of the fairest, cleanest, most sporting riders there is. I believe you confuse brilliance on a speedway motor bike with your idea of being a hothead. The only reason he didn't make the final is that he is a true racer who believed he had a clean run on Crump who, having bounced of the fence, had already lost his balance and took a dive when he found Tomasz inside him. The same as Nicki did against Crump. Gollob would have stayed on his bike, Crump decided not to. It was so pleasing tonight to see TG beat Nicki fair and square in Heat 17.
