spiderweb
World First By Australian Speedway Bike Promoters Gillman Media posted Monday September 15, 2008. In a first for World Speedway, three Australian Speedway Promoters are providing a fully paid sea container to Australian riders wishing to compete down under this summer. Gillman Speedway Manager David Parker, said; "With all of the leading Australian riders competing in Europe during the Australian off season, it is becoming more and more difficult for Australian promoters to plan meetings, not knowing who will be available to compete each summer. So the promoters of the three tracks staging this season's Australian Championship rounds — Newcastle, Mildura and Gillman — have joined forces to pay the costs of shipping the riders' bikes to and from Australia, which will allow the riders to save money have their best equipment on both sides of the World. Dick Barrie, of Air Sea Scotland Limited in the UK, has organised the construction of purpose built crates, which can carry two dismantled bikes and some gear, plus a container which can hold up to 24 of the crates. Go to http://www.gillmanspeedway.com/news_main.asp to read more. From my understanding 48 bikes can be transported free! Once all the Ozzie riders that want to come then anyone else that would like to ride in Aust can apply Great move by all concered.
Ozyace
Davey Parker (Gillman) is no mug, also the guys that run Mildura will get it on. Newcastle i've been to a couple of times and is in the Holder heartland, so it should attract plenty of local support. I think this years title will be the best it has been for some years. 3 rounds suit me and the riders, Imho. Can't wait for the official line up Lets have a guess one by one. 1) Chris (Noddy) Holder - Team Husquvarna

BigFatDave
WE need to wait to find out whos riding But Crump if he is on form Adams Then Holder You doing all the rounds ? Dunno about Jason or Leigh; these old fellers may need the time off! Certainly Crumpy, while acknowledging that he had a duty to his Ozfans conceded that doing 2007 had a detrimental effect on his racing last year, while the Man from Mildura has done more than enough for Australian Speedway over the years. (Did someone say decades?) As for doing all the rounds - will we be seeing you in the Air-conditioned grandstand at Newcastle, you seasoned World Traveller, you? The BIG question is - will there be a BAR at Gosford for the Qualifier? Otherwise its Hipflask City in God's waiting-room.

Yes would not blame Jason or Liegh if they were not racing, so will just have to wait and see who is racing, but Noddy will be hard to beat. Dont think there is any bar at Gosford but you can take your own! Formula one motel is not far away is a good place to stay! I wont be there I will do Milly and Gillman . I'll be staying in a Pub in Newcastle about 15 minutes from the Showgrounds so I'll catch the Train down to Gosford & back! Dunno whether I'll overnight at Gosford yet, depends if the parlour up the road is doing "Two for the price of One" specials or not!!
