Jenn
Surely thats the end for BP and NKI in the GP til 2010 as 3 Danes certain now (except Iversen as reserve) Rune Holta may need to qualify in the top 8 to get in now too. Very impressed by Tomasz - There best be an Aces contract under his nose as I type
Steve Shovlar
Classic roller from Bjerre in his last race. A pretty insipid meeting all round with at least 2 no hopers getting through. Have to agree. Both Ulamek and Bjerre not likely to do a thing. Walasek only slightly better in that he is good on the large tracks. To be honest all three are poor qualifiers though. best news is Sullivan blew it though. At least it means Noddy is likely to be offered one of the wild cards, which has to be good for the series.
Silver Bee
Load of rubbish. Absolute crap additions to the GP> Possibly the 3 most dull speedway riders, after Bjarne Pedersen, around at the moment. Yawn.
Hackett
Walasek, Ulamek and Bjerre well that will have IMG happy because it should guarantee some more Polish sponsorship. Although I doubt it will sell anymore tickets !!!!!!!
Dogstar
Maybe Holta needs to consider changing his nationality again?
Nazza
Well if Nicholls doesn't get in the top 8 then he will probably get another wild card
Dogstar
Great to see that Bjerre's leg held up for this meeting. Deserves his place in the GP.
Hackett
Big last two SGPs for Holta, Nicholls, Lindgren, Iversen and Harris now ......
Silver Bee
Well if Nicholls doesn't get in the top 8 then he will probably get another wild card Christ, I thought my evening couldn't get anymore dull with those qualifiers but it just has. Give it a rest.
screm
Well if Nicholls doesn't get in the top 8 then he will probably get another wild card Nicholls will get a GP pick if he doesnt get there by right. As Bjerre has got through thats going to put the pressure on B.Pedersen has he is another Dane.Think they will look to Aussie for another pick so that might be Holder in and on the 2nd half of tonights meeting what about Pavlic for another pick. salty
Congratulations to the 3 qualifiers. Might not be everybodys cup of tea but I reckon they all have the potential to cause 1 or 2 shocks next season. Hope Kenny B sends Davy Watt a bottle of bubbly because without Watt's travel nightmare to the semi final Bjerre would not even have got to the final. Biggest losers tonight were Rune and the 2 Danes currently in the GP's, Bjarne and Puk. With 3 Danes and 3 Poles now guaranteed for next year it would appear the only hope for these guys is to make that top 8 slot their own. I think Bjarne is too far back and with Puk and Lindgren riding with injuries (as is Holta) it looks like it is a shoot out between Holta and Nicholls. Then it will be interesting to see who bags the nominations....
tigerblues
I can barely contain my excitement at what the 2009 GP series will be like with Walasek and Ulamek in. Thrilling Edited September 14, 2008 by tigerblues

Seb the Snail
I can't see any of the qualifiers troubling the Top 8 in next year's series, but I like the concept of the GP Qualifier and so they deserve their place for 2009. Ulamek is one of the sport's good guys, and his celebrations are without equal. At least with Bjerre going through I get someone to jeer every other Saturday; well, unless he decides that his leg is broken again. Good news that Holder's chances have been enhanced by Sullivan's late collapse too, but the sooner we have a system based on ability and not nationality the better. I couldn't really give a stuff if we had 5 Aussies, 5 Poles and 5 Danes as long as they are the best 15 riders in the world.
pirateandi
be interesting the wildcard picks for next year the four that would probably get a pick in my opinion would be pending the final 8 bjarne , nicholls , harris & holder ? Steve Shovlar
Well the streaming lasted for me all the way through. hardly worth watching though. Track ultra slick and suited the guys with big fast engines. Plus of course it was Walaseks home track! For 2009: Bjerre Walasek Ulamek N Pedersen Crump Adams Gollob Nicholls Holder Andersen Hancock Jonsson Lindgren Pavlic Saifudinov wild card Time will tell of course. Ghostwalker
Pavlic is too young and too inexperienced IMO for the GPs. IMO i think they should have ridden atleast 1 full season in England, Sweden and Poland before trying the Gps.
bazaar3
Holder has already stated that he is not ready and I agree. Bet all of King Midas's fortune wouldn't get him in the GP's next season which should hopefully leave a place for Bomber or Scott to have another triumphant season. LaKazza
would have thought the wildcard picks would be Lindgren, Nicholls, Holder and the young russian. Now that Walasek and Ulamek are through i cant see Hample getting a wildcard..
rabbit
Hardly the most inspirational of additions to the GP series (and I say that as a fan of Walasek). Agree about Bjerre's flier in his last heat, and yet the rider off the same gate in the next the heat did exactly the same and it got called back. Do feel for NKI, but feel he might be in with a chance of a wild card. Much as it pains me to say it, I think Bjarne has cooked his goose this year (although missing two rounds through injury hardly helped) and will be looking in from the outside next year. Only redeeming thing from tonight was Sullivan not getting back in - his addition would've been a step backwards and as others have said it does give Holder more of a chance. If I had my way, the wildcards would be NKI, Holder, Sajfutdinov and possibly Pavlic just to freshen the series up a bit. Too much dead wood floating around in the GPs and tonight's qualifiers don't do much to dismiss that perception.
