tomazpozrl
Yes, the rain was to heavy and after almost 3 hours of waiting, the organizers decided to cancel the meeing and they will try to stage it again tommorow. Weather forecast is a little bit better today, it's still raining at the moment, but it should stop soon. AFAIK, all riders apart from Bogdanovs stayed in Lendava and will ride today. tomazpozrl
Latest news from the trackside: As I said earlier, Bodganovs left Lendava yesterday and will be replaced today by Carpanese. There's currently no rain in Lendava, it's pretty cloudy but it looks like the weather will hold today. The track is in good condition, yesterday's rain didn't affect it a lot due to a good drainage system. If we don't get another downpour today, then it looks like the European championship final will be staged today, starting at 13.30. Subedei
Well, Matej Zagar is the champion, but it looks a bit of a mess for the remaining places on the podium, as six riders are tied on 10 points.

That must have been a nightmare for the ref, but he got it sorted. Ulamek winning both of his reruns! No probs Tomasz, I'm waiting... Nazza
Well done Mads on coming 3rd. 1st and 2nd going to 2 Ex Grand Prix riders. Next year will be make or break for Mads
Chris Brown
Shame for Ales who went into the final round as the only man with a realistic chance of beating Zagar and from a race for the title in Heat 19 he ends up 7th
tomazpozrl
That must have been a nightmare for the ref, but he got it sorted. Let me quote Mr. Ziegler (the referee) after heat 20: "Guys, now we have a problem."
Subedei
Let me quote Mr. Ziegler (the referee) after heat 20: "Guys, now we have a problem." Fair play to the referee and everyone else involved. That was an ingenius way of sorting it all out. I was impressed. A shame that Matej Kus ended up taking a trip to hospital - I trust it is nothing too serious.
f-s-p
Let me quote Mr. Ziegler (the referee) after heat 20: "Guys, now we have a problem." I've read the rule book a few times but can't remember any guidelines to a situation like this. In ice hockey for example when they have a new situation with the rules the governing body usually picks up on it and they develope a procedure for it for the following season. I've seen a video from Elgane (early 90's) where they had maybe five riders tied on points after the preli's and if I remember correctly they all rode against each other and after that the points were re-calculated to see who the qualifiers were. I'd say that Ziegler's decision has been fairly fair this time. What was all the exclusions on the rerun's about?
tomazpozrl
To be fair, I think it was the jury president Andrzej Grodzki (also UEM track racing comission president) who suggested this run-off system and the referee accepted it. Which exclusions do you mean? There was just one, Gizatullin was excluded for fencing Kus. Coming out of the 4th bend Gizatullin ran straight into Kus, put him in the fence and czech rider crashed hard. They took him to hospital but first reports said that nothing was broken, he was conscious but the doctors were doing some extra examination just as a precaution.
