paul84
Do these two riders really not get on? Because i think if thats the case, then its time they kissed and made up because they are both very good riders but as everyone can see they seem to struggle some what in the GP's. other countries riders help each other out and i think its time we did too if we want more to cheers about. the GP's are hard enough meetings so a bit of partnership wouldnt go a miss dont you think? Anyone remember when Loram won the World championship, him and Joe screen certainly got on and helped each other out? I no its meant to be every man for himself out there but someone should have a word, before the both of them drop out of the Gp's and they wont get handed a place if it was up to me. sad times for British Speedway at World level. Greg Hancock is my new adoped favorite Brit!! Edited August 18, 2008 by Stoney=Legend
highside
Does it matter if they get on or not they are both GP flops.
paul84
yeah i agree that they both arent very impressing, and its hard to be positive when you watch them perform in the GP's. but its also frustrating when you see them beat alot of GP riders week in week out in the Elite league, it is more of there mental attitude rather then riding ability that lets them down i believe. They just don't seem very motivated to me, if Malilla's performance is anything to go by. It's a shame.
Paulco
I don't think it really matters if they " get on " or not . Nicki Pedersen and Hans Andersen haven't exactly been bosom buddies over the years , but it hasn't held them back . Despite , somehow , winning the British GP last year Harris doesn't convince me as a GP rider . Don't know what Nicholls's problem is though . paul84
Nicki and Hans dont care they will push or battle with any one in the gp's and good on them thats why they are the riders they are. Our boys as A61 said just dont seem motivated, and a bit of sprite and partnership might just help to bring the best out of them is my view. mervjankefanclub
ivan mauger, ole olsen, bruce penhall, hans nielsen, erik gundersen, tony rickardsson, jason crump, nicki pedersen need i go on......? all single minded and ruthless in their pursuit of INDIVIDUAL glory the world championship isnt about being buddies in the pits its about focussing on your own performance and idiot the rest its not about helping out your fellow countrymen the bottom line is nicholls and harris just arent good enough in my opinion and if they fail to qualify from the top 8 this year then tough rubbish because they certainly wont deserve a seeded place they have had their chances and they also had the option of taking part in the qualifiers this season but didnt bother their erse Edited August 18, 2008 by mervjankefanclub
lucifer sam
I was staying at Vastervik at the weekend. Bjarne Pedersen was staying at our hotel. Someone spotted his mechanics in the bar at the hotel the night before the Grand Prix, and they asked his mechanics where Bjarne was. "He's been tucked up in bed for the last hour", came the reply. It seems Bjarne went to bed around 8.00pm. On the other hand, Chris Harris was spotted at a bar in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Is it any wonder we can't compete with the Danes? All the best Rob

Unlike our riders who are too busy nicking the favoured sports of their team mates in the Coventry pits, instead of concentrating on a team effort in the competition. paul84
Yes merv i understand what you are saying, its clear our two boys arent going to be world champs but if they can put a challenge in and try restore some pride in being a Brit that all people want. a British rider to cheer for. and yes the riders you named are a class above. When Bomber won in Cardiff that was superb, he can do it.

When Bomber won in Cardiff that was superb, he can do it. Can he though . Apart from that freak performance at Cardiff 2007 , he hasn't remotely looked competative in GP's . Even his famous " aiming for 5 points " ambition , has looked beyond him recently .

paul84
Cant argue with that, but he showed us he can do it which is frustrating! That why i say its all in the heads with our lads i dont hink they believe they can do it themselves anymore

paul84
as ive said to a few people i no, When Stonehewer was in the Gp's the best he got was 12th in the world, and not much really said as he was over shadowed by Loram and Screeny. Am not sure whats Scotts best placing has been but has it been much better then that?? like i say when he rides Elite league hes a great heat leader!! but its all in his self belief i say. lucifer sam
By the way bjane rode at weekend he should have gone out He still scored nearly as much as Nicholls and Harris put together. And no doubt Nicki Pedersen and Jason Crump have early nights the night before the Grand Prix. It's called professionalism - and it's what the British riders lack. When I'm out on the piss the night before the Swedish GP, I don't expect to bump into any riders. All the best Rob
