Posa won't be in Berlin!!!

Seems he broke a finger yesterday....plus he failed(?) a doping test in Inzell. He is taking medicine for lowering his blood pressure and the FIM say he didn't inform them until too late....i.e at the doping control!

But Franky,Tuinstra and Harald Simon are all there.Flyktmann rides in place of Serenius

Posa out

International Disciplinary Court

2009 FIM Team Ice Racing World Championship

Case of Serenius Per-Olov

The International Disciplinary Court, presided by Mr Frantisek Schulmann convened a

February last, and whose sample was found not in accordance with the rules of the FIM

Anti-Doping Code (Hydrochlororothiazide). The CDI took the following decisions:

- Mr Serenius and the Swedish National Team are disqualified from the event (IMN

505/01) Team Ice racing World Championship Final held at Inzell, Germany on

31/01-01/02/2009 and the points won at the said event are forfeited. According to

this decision the classification is thus corrected.

Racing World Championship.

The full decision was notified to the rider. An appeal against this decision may be lodged

to the International Tribunal of Appeal (TIA) within 5 days as from the receipt of the

official notification.

All in all stupid and should have never been allowed to happen. Everyone in the ice racing community knew about his condition after last years situation in Russia when he wasn't allowed to ride in the opening round because of his medication.

This is the one thing that will catch the "big" newspapers again, even as the meeting itself would never have gotten a mention. Specially as the the FIM statement doesn't say anything about the medication.:neutral:

Unless of course, he really was doped..?

Ian, the meeting on the 8th is being run by Jo Seatre (the Norwegian rider) and it will feature four British riders if everything goes to plan,as Kevin Rowand and Rob Irving are also included in the line up. This meeting in the last two years has been cancelled due to lack of ice, but this winter has been far colder.

I'm the UK rider in the Oslo meeting.

Just leaving for Finland now, the temperature looks good and I'm looking forward to a good weekend :approve:

Just heard that this meeting (in Skarnes) has been cancelled (again).

Latest from ice racing is that the Austrian team's performance is under protest, because Franz Zorn has too professional outlook for his racing team. Also his mullett exceeds the FIM regulations, article 555.533.66447.32.a.

Andy Pipkin has also filed a civil suit against him for steeling his hairstyle. It's in direct violation of street code, article 35645987,2364987.j like Vicky Pllard, solicitor for Mr Pipkin has stated in her sportsblog.

Honest.

Bit of an odd day despite some fantastic racing.

Harald Simon went over the fence in his opening ride and cartwheeled up the hill with his bike on the third turn. Svensson crashed in his fourth ride and withdrew from the meeting. Bauer injured last night and withdrew from today, Ivan Ivanov did half a lap and withdrew (again)

Krasnikov only needs 9 points to win next weekend.

Fotos from Berlin

Must admit Conkers continually saying "look at this one it is great!" at nearly every bloody foto he took got on my nerves a bit :wink::lol: But Aakko spoilt my weekend by losing me a couple of beers with his failure to keep in front of the Russians for another lap in the B Final yesterday :angry:
