iris123
Mark was good enough to send a rather helpful e-mail to me last night too. Claude Gaydeyne has taken one of the Swiss slots, whilst the GB slot has been allocated to a German, which is why Marian Kreklau is riding. (Mark believed that Dmitri Tschatschin had his slot) Oh well, typical Russian bureaucracy eh? Good luck in the European Semi Mark! Marian has been down to ride in the Togliatti meeting since at least the 3rd of jan.It was mentioned in an article about his season.Marian Kreklau

Conkers
Looking at the comments on the Russian Forum, the Finns Kontemiemi and Vilponen couldn't get to grips with the track. Simon could have scored more as well but was excluded in his last ride. Reading what was said, I think he crossed the inside line when he was in second. Holstein is improving well. He could be the Seeded KNMV rider ahead of Johnny T and Rene if he rides Day 2 like he did today.
f-s-p
Good performance from Sven Holstein, but just look at the Russian reserves! Each with 5 points. What is going on with the Finns?????And poor from Kreklau Joni Kontoniemi dislocated his shoulder in his fall and is apparently done for the weekend? Vilponen had problems with his machinery and had to miss his last heat because of it. Flyktman still in the battle for the GP, thanks to Simon's 0 in his last. This Harald Simon fellow looks to have passed both the top Finns in the world ranking...

f-s-p
The test match between Finland and Sweden has been cancelled at Tampere on the 22nd of February. Pyynikki that has hosted ice racing at Tampere since the fifties looks now to have closed it's doors for the last time, when Sweden crushed Finland there in early -06. The fate of the ice racers is shared by the local auto club, that has hosted rally speedway on ice there for more than 30 consecutive years. The city doesn't want either of them anymore, and is more interested in allowing the summer sports being able to start as early as possible, rather than allowing the paying public to see what they have grown accustomed to in the past 50 years. The same has apparently happened at Raatti, Oulu. And there's also the fact that team Finland will be riding on the sat and sun of that particular weekend in the Swedish league. So what happens with the Nordic final scheduled for the sat remains a mystery, since the Swedish clubs aren't willing to change their dates. Finnish individual ice racing semi will be raced at Kuortane on the 14th of February and the final two weeks later at Forssa. f-s-p
Joni Kontoniemi's season is over. The damage to his shoulder was bad enough to put an end to his racing this season. It needs an operation.
iris123
A new track in Germany held a meeting yesterday.Bauer didn't like the state of the ice and pulled out after practice. Kirchberg am Wald taken from inspeed.de 1.Simon 12p 2.Niedermaier 11p 3.Zmaga 10p 4.Joh.Weber 7p 5.Stellingwerf 7p 6.Kreuzberger 7p 7.Kirchner 7p 8.Gartmann 4p 9.Ebner 4p 10.Fürst 1p 11.Tschatschin 0p Also Bauer and Pletschacher have hit out at the FIM for seeding a Pole and a Dutch rider through to the entire GP series rather than their home meetings.Obviously Pletschacher has a real struggle to get through as it is most likely that in Sanok no Pole will qualify automatically and the Dutch seem to be going the same way.Which will mean 2 riders who should have gone through making way for a rider who maybe finished 14th or so in their quali round Bauer Pletschacher
Conkers
Zmaga seems to be getting about a bit as he's due to ride in the Sanok cup tonight. What do you know about him Joni?
DutchGrasstrack
What I know is that Anton Smaga is 19 years old, he came with Sergej Kasakov from Ussurijsk to Germany in January for European meetings. He's also due to ride in the German Championship in Inzell. http://www.motorsport-aktuell.com/offroad/...-auf--7926.html
DutchGrasstrack
Latest news from Sanok is that the Polish #1 crashed out (Grzegorz Knapp) and he lost his consciousness for a while and his bike rode over his hand. He's currently in hospital, dropped out the Sanok Cup tonight but he's willing to ride in the WC Quali! Johnny Tuinstra had a quite rough ride to Sanok, he hit a hog with his van .
