Saransk TV showed the Russian Final last year andthe local Ufa TV showed the GP two years ago, both were streamed live on the internet. The only downside for me is that I have to use the kids PC to watch as the stream only works on Internet Explorer, and not Safari or Firefox.

Iris 123 and I regularly scan the Russian forums looking for links so if we find them we usually try to post them.

And let's not forget the 5 minutes if we are lucky on RBB(from the Berlin Final) and the odd snippet from Dutch or Swedish tv

Swedish riders for the World Championship Qualifiers:

Togliatti: Stefan Svensson, Ulf Ledström, Hans-Olov Olsén

Saalfelden: Johan Lundkvist, Peter Koij

Sanok: Posa Serenius, P-A Lindström

Heard yesterday that Posa might have taken a knock this winter already and has hurt himself? Anyone heard similar or was this just talk to keep warm...

Funäsdalen in practice but I don't think it was bad, just a routine trip to hospital to check for any damage.

yes it is a public holiday at bavaria, not at Bochum :-(

P.S. today we`ve had lovely weather with -5°C, snow, perfect for iceracing

yes public holiday only in the predominantly catholic states of Germany, that's mostly the southern states such as Bavaria where Steingaden is.

Weather forecast is plenty of sunshine and below zero temperatures even at day, though we could do with a little bit more snow. It was raining a lot before xmas and it was above zero so that was not so nice. But now it looks good for the January iceracing in the Alpine regions.

Thanks for that Jackie & Bavarian.

You'd think I knew it was Epiphany being married to a Catholic and having my children brought up as Catholics. Didn't realise that it was a public holiday in parts of Europe. I'd love to go to Steingaden, but I'm back to work that day!

I`m just back at our hotel, have had some warm drinks. The cold temperatures are a little bit unfamiliar....

Tomorrow the competition at Strömsund starts 3.00 p.m., I think it might be 2.00 p.m. british time? Think Conkers or Iris123 could tell you the right british time.....

Franz Zorn was riding very well but has had an engine failure at Heat 18, don`t know exactly what went wrong at his bike, but I think tomorrow we`ll have a little bit more time talking to the rider, because today most of them are very busy with their bikes before and after the competition.

Tomorrow we`ll also making an Live-Update at www.speedway-forum.de, hope you enjoy it.
