Gemini
Always the same isn't it? I've not bothered with this meeting since the Hyde Road days when it really meant something then.
Silver Bee
Sorry, but Birmingham speedway/the BSPA said that tickets could only be refunded after the restaging has taken place. If this e-mail is correct, it's utterly disgraceful.
21st century heathen
I'd love to know why those riders are missing, but as I type the line-up is very strong. Most top EL riders are currently listed on the BSPA website front page as riding in the meeting. Interestingly, the teams with missing riders (as above) are the clubs that only have one representitive. I hope that's deliberate and as a punishment for their big names pulling out. LisaColette
I wonder how many more? Too late now to send back any re-entry tickets too Why? Thought they weren't sorting that out til the end of the season!
London Witch
I wonder how many more? Too late now to send back any re-entry tickets too How can it be too late? Surely people still have a choice whether to travel or not, right up until the date of the restaging? Somebody who was planning on going might need to drop out at the last moment, I'm sure they can't get away with this! I reckon they realise there will be a complete lack of interest and so are trying to pull a fast one!

TwoMinuteWarning
It's been noted that already there is no Scott Nicholls, no Andreas Jonsson, no Lee Richardson for this meeting . Are there any valid reasons for this? It's well known that Lee was put through the fence by Ulamek on Sunday, and missed the Swedish Play-off final last night - due to concussion, stitches in hand, etc etc

iris123
I can't understand why Bjarne mentioned that he doesn't want to do the GPs next year, but one of the meetings he will concentrate on is this! The ELRC has long been a joke.
21st century heathen
I agree iris, but at present it seems only two riders will have gone AWOL. Does anyone know of a genuine reason for Nicholls and Jonsson to be missing? I stress again, at present the advertised line-up this season is strong. Nobody at the BSPA has my e-mail address, so I know nothing! Lol. I will apply for my refund following the event.
Brummie Kev
Perhaps Scott Nicholls and Andreas Jonnson were the riders that pulled out late without a valid reason when it was origionally staged and the BSPA have banned them from the restaging. Still think Holder will win next week. Edited October 1, 2008 by Brummie Kev
21st century heathen
Okay, time for something a bit more positvie after all the moans we've had recently. Who's going to win it? Will the track record go? Perhaps there's even a case for how many times. Crump Andersen Adams Track record to Adams.
SUPERACE
I just hope we have better luck with the weather as the forcast doesnt look good. If on Crumpy's the man to beat.
youngy105
I just hope we have better luck with the weather as the forcast doesnt look good. If on Crumpy's the man to beat. According to metcheck it looks like rain in the early hours of the 8th and then ok after that. Between 7pm and 10pm the forecast is fair and clear so fingers crossed it's right. Crump, Adams and Andersen for the top 3 IMO.
S4r4h
Why do they keep organising this meeting for mid-week?Spare a thought for the fans that have to travel hundreds of miles to this meeting and the time needed off work or off school for the kids etc Why not run the meeting at the weekend (no polish meetings in oct is there?) im sure they would get a bigger gate for a sat night or sun afternoon than a wed night Also is it a good idea to put this on just before the last gp of the year? Unfortunately due to the planning permission, Birmingham can only run on a Weds evening and 4 Sundays throughout the year. Due to the wonderful summer we've had, the Sundays have been used to re-stage rained off Wednesday meetings. The Promotion had to apply for special permission to begin this meeting at 7.30 and to run 21 heats, as this is also not allowed within the planning permission.
