starsupportersam
far my mate who has driven to both Kings Lynn and Birmingham has forked out enough for petrol for wasted journey's and the other costs on top make it two expensive wastes of time and money.....I would have thought that the BSPA would consider things like this and act fairly and sensibly After the ELPairs at Lynn the BSPA immediately refunded tickets if you sent them to there office, you did not have to wait X amount of time. oldtimer
A question - If the BSPA are not giving refunds until the end of the season, and there is a crowd limit or limit on tickets for Birmingham, how will the organisers know how many seats or standing places are available or how many tickets to sell on the gate, if they don't know how many who have already got tickets are going to turn up. For example, If they refunded 100 ticket holders then thats another 100 to sell on the gate.

sancho
The BSPA need to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st Century And so do the majority of speedway fans
NOBBY
And so do the majority of speedway fans  Why ??? Because speedway fans want the sport run professionally and with an impartial body running it so as to see things done correctly and without bias. So that riders don't get accused of witholding their services and banned when all they were doing was saying I am not riding for free and want what has been owed to me for months !!! So that we don't see the old pals act every so often and behind closed doors decisions being made that don't really benefit the future of the sport. So that we could actually see something being done as a fix to the current shambles the sport is in in this country, instead of a minor repair each year until it all goes ** up !!! You think it's being run just fine and dandy do you ???
Pollyanna
Just got back from a very wet Perry Barr ....we used the entry tickets from the rained off Pairs meeting at Kings Lynn back in April, just like we were told we could. Now, if we had requested a refund back in April we would have got our money back within a couple of weeks. However, tonight a very officious looking lady I assume from the BSPA informed us that we can re-use the tickets for the re-staged ELRC, but if we want a refund we would have to wait until the end of October before we could request it and get our money back. So that would mean that they had everyones £20 who were going to re-use the rained off Pairs tickets for the ELRC from April until October....that's 7 months !!!! THAT IS HOW MUCH THE BSPA THINK OF THE PAYING FANS, AND I WILL BE PHONING THEM TOMORROW TO TELL THEM EXACTLY WHAT THEY CAN DO WITH THEIR SUPER BL**DY SEVEN MEETINGS IN FUTURE !!!!   I agree with you, Nobby and we feel exactly the same. Travelled over 200 miles to this. I will also be Emailing the BSPA and asking for our money back straight away. I will also never again bother with one of these super7even events. Not happy that we bought tickets in advance which were supposed to be posted to us. Instead, we received a letter last Saturday to say they couldn't post them and we had to present this letter at the turnstiles. Having never been to Birmingham before, we thought there would be a separate entrance for ticket holders, but no! We had to queue with everyone else - what a fiasco! Take my advice, people and NEVER pay in advance for these events, It's just not worth it!
NOBBY
After the ELPairs at Lynn the BSPA immediately refunded tickets if you sent them to there office, you did not have to wait X amount of time. Â No we decided to do the honourable thing and try to re-use the tickets for the restaged Pairs, but were not able to go when it was restaged. We then decided in fairness to use them for the ELRC and that's why we didn't ask for our money back then. However having done it this way so as not to get money back and then pay it out for the ELRC meeting tickets we now find that we will not be able to go to the restaged meeting whenever in October it is due to work commitments and holidays, but now find we cannot get our money back until the end of October. Why could we get the money refunded immediately after the rained off Pairs meeting, but not immediately after the rained off ELRC.....what's the difference ??? NOBBY
Don't see a major issue really. Most people who wanted to go to the meeting will still go anyway. The ones who can't/won't go can get a refund after the event.  You can even wait for the event to see if you like the revised line up.  A lot of admin to sort the refunds out to then take the money again. Its only £20 anyway and you were happy to spend it at the time so its not like its making you short of cash.  I know where you are coming from on the principle of it, but blowing it out of proportion IMO just a tad  Not just the principle but the attitude of the way you are told that you will just have to wait. It was arrogant and dismissive and it was dictatorial. You are correct that I am lucky enough to not miss £20 for a while, but there were plenty of pensioners where I was in the crowd who would like their money back now and who may just miss £20 unlike you and me. At Kings Lynn it was announced to everyone that you could get a full refund straight away by sending the tickets back to the bspa headquarters, but the other night if you dare enquire you were told you will have to wait until the end of the season at the end of October. When I asked why the answer was "because you will !"
Adder
If the meeting had gone ahead you would have done your £20 anyway so why is it suddenly life or death over getting a refund by return of post?  If you could afford to spend the money on Wednesday then you can afford to wait for a refund. Perhaps soemthing else had to go by the board to find the £20. If that's the case, good reason to want you money back if there was no meeting. BoroBearBabe
But it's money you have already spent and effectively written off anyway. Some people will moan about anything! I think the point is that there's a big difference between spending money on something and having £20 taken off you with nothing in return. LisaColette
If £ 20 is life and death for you don't go to speedway it's that simple .  it's not life and death for me personally. but you don't know whats going to happen in the near future, might need it back in a month, which you didn't know at the time. still don't understand why they need to keep it til the end of the season. could understand it, if it was until the restaging is announced. Â But if it had been on you wouldnt have it still! Â Plus they have agreed to refunds at the end of the season, its not a case of if they refund but when? Â Should rename this boardfrom Speedway Forum to whinging forum, its 90% whinging 10% speedway at the best of times, and thats all threads not just this one! BoroBearBabe
If £ 20 is life and death for you don't go to speedway it's that simple . I didn't even go to the ELRC but if I had, then it would've been classed as a treat because we can't afford to spend that much money every week for two of us to watch speedway so wouldn't it have been nice if the BSPA could have refunded it so that I could spend that money on another meeting before the end of the season?
