Squire
In an article in the Speedway Star, and according to Trevor Geer, it was a mistake not to include Lewis Bridger in team GB for the SWC. Myself, I am not sure it would have made a big difference with due respect to Lewis. Should he be included in the team manager’s plans for the future of the GB team though? It seems also that Lewis feels that Tai Woffinden should have done better than he did. (Discussion please without personal insults..) rabbit
In the future possibly. This year no. As for the comments re Tai, possibly smacking a little of bitterness? Personally, I've yet to see what the big fuss is with Lewis - I see a lad with fast bikes yes, but Tai is far more controlled and skillful at this point in time. That doesn't mean to say that my mind is set on Lewis; I'm happy to be proven wrong...just feel a few of the rough edges need smoothing off on track. That's just my opinion though, before his fanclub come on here having a go. Edited July 24, 2008 by rabbit

Its only a few Speedway Star’s I have read after a few years break and of course, I watched and enjoyed the SWC on TV even though we did not win or qualify. Not too familiar with Lewis as a rider hence me starting the thread. Edited July 24, 2008 by Squire
Cornishman
It seems also that Lewis feels that Tai Woffinden should have done better than he did. Bit of the green eyed monster me thinks. As for Lewis being in the team, probably a bit too early this year. But definately one for the future, possibly even next year

Saint Rob
Say what you want about the Eastbourne folk, but they have a wicked sense of humour!!!! All Bridger would've done is crash
tigerblues
It seems also that Lewis feels that Tai Woffinden should have done better than he did. Doubt Bridger would have done as well as Tai did. Probably jealous tbh. My opinion (for what it's worth) is that Lewis is a very talented speedway rider, I don't think he has it coming naturally to him as much as Tai does but he's still really good, but with recent events and a seemingly poorer attitude than Woffinden (and Kennett for that matter) I don't think he's ready for it. In the future, maybe even next year, but for me Tai's got a better head on his shoulders, he's got the mentality and the attitude and Lewis needs to have settled down a bit and get a bit of a grasp on reality before his time comes. Don't know the lad personally but it seems like he thinks he's already made it. He hasn't. Tai on the other hand just takes it in his stride, he's so level-headed and very mature about his speedway. Don't get me wrong, I think Lewis will make it, not sure about the GPs, world champion etc, I don't have the same hopes for him as I do Tai, but he's going to be a good rider for us as a nation and for the EL. Wonder if it would have made a difference if Lewis had done what Tai did and got a year or 2 in the PL gaining experience? Admire the ambition of Lewis but would it have helped him/slowed him down? Quite agree, I don't think Lewis can cut it at that level, and I think that Tai is one step above Lewis if not two or three, and is by far a more mature and more controlled and calmer rider. hatcham
bridger is nowhere near as good as he was last year,so i struggle to see how he is even one for the future.

AndyM
Mr Bridger needs to prove his worth first. Tai looks good in any company, where Lewis often struggles.
