Silver Bee
Gutted I'm in Prague, been looking forward to going to Edinburgh on a GP weekend and this was seemingly the perfect opportunity, but we fly to Prague on the Thursday
King Jamie
I believe the inclusion of all 7 Monarchs was a gesture by the promotion to show their thanks for how well we have performed as a team. So yes............quite right to include Spud Oh and I believe I'm sponsoring Daniel this year guess who i'm sponsoring?
Seb the Snail
guess who I'm sponsoring? Captain Marvel? How much does it cost then? I'd consider sponsoring THJ if someone could help him with directions to the track.
King Jamie
Captain Marvel? as if nah, i'm backing Aaron Summers unless Kevin Doolan makes an unexpected, last minute appearance
Seb the Snail
nah, i'm backing Aaron Summers £50 for fuel and £20 for a trip to the barbers hopefully.
Paulco
He's better around Armadale than any current Glasgow rider! Better around Ashfield than many! Correction. He has a hgher average around Ashfield (12.00) than Shane Parker (11.14) and THJ (11.00)! I acknowledge that might be tongue in cheek , but the Monarch's arrogance is breathtaking . Granted your team has been outstanding this season , but surely it's only common courtesy to include one of your poor neighbours . I'm afraid the inclusion of a couple of ex-Tigers won't wash . Still it's a good field ( well almost ) and i'm sure it will be a good meeting , but out of principle i won't be attending .
Dekker
Didnt shane turn an invite down? After that who would you invite Paulco?
Paulco
Didnt shane turn an invite down? After that who would you invite Paulco? Shane obviously turned the invite down because it's too soon , he doesn't try out his fitness till a session at Coventry on August 4th . I realise you dont rate Ksiezak or Leverington very highly , i'm sure they have sleepless nights over that fact . But that is not the point - surely it makes sense having a Glasgow rider in the field to have the attendance as healthy as possible . I know we should know our place and should realise we have no business thinking we should be worthy of sharing a track with the awesome Monarchs , but common courtesy should at least let the plebs from the West a rider to cheer ( even if he is last ) . Al Stewart
Shane Parker was invited of course, as he always is, but regrettably had to decline for obvious reasons. I think anyone getting oin their high horse about the failure to invite any other Glasgow riders, is just someone who is dead keen to get on their high horse at every opportunity. With the best will in the world, which of the current Glasgow team could be included? I am sure that a fit Shane Parker would have been one of the first names on the sheet. The alternatives: Trent Leverington (GSA at Armadale including bonus 3.68), Robert Ksiesak (4.73), Josh Grajczonek (2.40), Mitchell Davey (2.00)? The best bet appears to be Lee Dicken (4.90). I doubt if Anders Andersen would be any better. Besides Glasgow's number one Carl Stonehewer is riding. (Sorry forgot he's Edinburgh's number one as well!). Paulco
One was, he delined. Well he didn't have much choice in the matter . You might as well have invited Jim McMillan or Charlie Monk .

To be fair they would have done a better job than the current Glasgow team anyway.

fred
Good line up for the meeting and just hope no injuries or riders having to withdraw as it looks like you could pick anyone of the invited riders making the rostrum, Ok all apart from Makovsky. And all the fuss being made of no Tiggers in the line up oh dear Edited July 23, 2008 by fred
Midnight_Lady
He really does feel pasionate about you Edinburgh lot - goodness knows why having met more of their fans recently!!!! Oi ya cheeky mare That's you of the Christmas card list £50 for fuel and £20 for a trip to the barbers hopefully. Nowt wrong with Spud's hair. You're just jealous but the Monarch's arrogance is breathtaking......... How is it arrogance trying to field the best line up possible. Sadly Parker apart, there is not one Tiger worth inviting this season. That's the truth of it. The chip on your shoulder must be delaying the healing of that collar bone. Turn it round whatever way you like , but there used to be a certain amount of co-operation between the two Scottish sides . I'm sorry we are deemed not to be worthy of that now . I'm sorry we are deemed not to be worthy of that now . I guess this is just one that we ain't going to agree on!! Taking a step back and removing either Tigers or Monarchs specs - who would you rather see race.............Leverington or Janirro? Ksiezak or Schlein? Josh G or Jason Lyons? Dicken or David Howe??? I just can't see how you could favour any Glasgow rider from the above. I think the chances of a Glasgow rider were made even slimmer with the full Monarchs 7 being fielded. Finally - William will not be riding, so I think this debate may prove pointless - as I think a Glasgow rider will come in as a replacement. Plus Janirro is not confirmed either. Your immediate reaction will be................ ................but thats not the point, they should've been invited in the first place, eh??!
