MattyHart
Seems it will be : The Monarchs, plus,Nermark, Makovsky, Howe, Stoney, Stancl and Schlein. Maksim Bogdanovs(Latvia), Jannick de Jong (Holland), Peter Kildemand (Denmark) and Woffinden seem others who could possibly be named. That is taken from the Monarchs Chatzone. Paulco
Well i must say , i'm extremely disappointed . I know the meeting is at Edinburgh , but it is the SCOTTISH open and surely it wouldn't have hurt to have one representative from the other Scottish club . I'm also aware we have been poor this year and our captain still isn't fit enough to resume riding yet , but surely Robert Ksiezak or Trent Leverington could have been invited . I really don't understand why at least one of them hasn't been included as now it could take a couple of hundred off the attendance as many Glasgow fans wont come through now . Very strange and very regrettable .
gsc
Totally agree with you Paulco, while it is a very good line up there has always been at least one current Glasgow rider. Personally, i thought they may invite Peter Juul, ahh well
ylinenhare5-1
At the same time though, the promotion want to put together as strong a field as possible. No disrespect to the current Glasgow riders, but I can't see any them being too competitive in the Open. Trent isn't Armadale's biggest fan and Robert hasn't really had many stand out meetings either. I'm sure the Monarchs promotion did consider a Glasgow rider, but in the absence of Shane - there just isn't anyone competitive enough. But I do agree, I did expect to see a Glasgow rider invited - just to get some Tiggers along. I'm assuming that is why Makovsky was invited - to hopefully get some Berwick fans up. I think the line up is top notch. If Janirro does say yes, them I'm sure his race with Ryan Fisher will be one to watch out for!! Also Rory seems very confident about taking the title as well. Throw track specialists Nermark, Lyons, Grieves, Howe, Stonehewer and Stancl in to this and it will be a cracker of a meeting!

King Jamie
the promotion want to put together as strong a field as possible. Aaron Summers?? If Janirro does say yes, them I'm sure his race with Ryan Fisher will be one to watch out for!! is that the one during or after the meeting? So would I
em1500uk
How'd I know you'd be mad at that comment You know we both politely agree to disagree with one another where Nermark's concerned. It's all good LOL
ylinenhare5-1
Aaron Summers?? I believe the inclusion of all 7 Monarchs was a gesture by the promotion to show their thanks for how well we have performed as a team. So yes............quite right to include Spud Oh and I believe I'm sponsoring Daniel this year
Sandie
At last - A Scottish Open over a GP weekend!!! Why does that please me? For the last few years Rory has been devastated that this meeting has always been when Coventry are riding. Every year he says that he would have love to have come up there. Now he has his chance. He really does feel pasionate about you Edinburgh lot - goodness knows why having met more of their fans recently!!!! And I suspect Billy janniro is on the TBC list as his two main mechanics will be with us in Prague!!! Oops - bad timing boys - you didnt see that one coming!!! My dissapointment - I may have come up for this meself if I wasnt in Prague - I know I would have been able to fill the car easily!
jgl07
Aaron Summers?? He's better around Armadale than any current Glasgow rider! Better around Ashfield than many! Correction. He has a hgher average around Ashfield (12.00) than Shane Parker (11.14) and THJ (11.00)! Edited July 23, 2008 by jgl07
ylinenhare5-1
Perhaps, as well, maybe the Edinburgh promotion seen Grieves, Lyons and Stancl (strong Glasgow connections) as the lure for the Tiggers fans??
