tigerblues
Great Britain should include Commonwealth riders, or at least riders with some vague connection with Great Britain (not just any johnny foreigner who fancies a dabble with the Union Jack on his chest) until we have enough quality English riders to win it by ourselves again. Nice one, let's get Crumpy in then. And if we're talking Commonwealth riders then there'll probably end up being no Brits in the team
Subedei
Nice one, let's get Crumpy in then. Be interested to know how he'd manage to ride for both Great Britain and Australia? Facing facts, the only Australians likely to want to ride for Great Britain are the ones not good enough to get into the Australian team. Bagpuss
Or the ones who want a quicker route into the GP; easier to get in ahead of Nicholls and Harris than Crump and Adams. You also have the likes of Holder, Watt and Batchelor who will probably be knocking loudly on the door next year. Not many (if any) Brits getting their knuckles ready I'm afraid. Subedei
Not many (if any) Brits getting their knuckles ready I'm afraid. That's because they expect BSI to be knocking on their door asking them to join the circus.
Bagpuss
Possibly. More likely though that they are none good enough. Edited July 21, 2008 by Bagpuss
Subedei
Possibly. More likely though that they are none good enough. That is true. But the global superstar and Harris no doubt believe that they have a God-given right to be in the GPs.
lucifer sam
How about the following Great Britain team: 1. Jason Crump 2. Leigh Adams 3. Chris Harris 4. Chris Holder 5. Tai Woffinden All the best Rob

Tai Woffinden All the best Rob There has been times of course in the past when Australia did not have a team strong enough for test matches they incorporated riders from New Zealand and raced as Australasia . Plus, for team GB frequently Ronnie Moore, Barry Briggs and even Ivan Mauger would turn out in the Union Jack race bib. Ronnie Moore also rode for both Australia and New Zealand. Mateusz
Poland can’t win the SWC without Norway’s help and even then it has to be held in Poland. How boring you are. At the very beginning I was against letting Holta ride for Poland as well but now I really don't care, especially that he's been riding as a Pole in all international meetings for a few years now (unlike in the past when he was Polish in the league and Norwegian in SGP ). Honestly, more fun cheering for your team fighting for the Championship almost every year (even with ONE imported rider on board) than watching super English but super weak team GB Edited July 21, 2008 by Mateusz

SuzieQ
I am sorry, here is a simplistic précis for you……. Missed the live broadcast, rain spoilt it. Australia had no chance after Crump’s injury. Denmark were good but not brilliant. Sweden should have done better. Stupid joker rule led to gamesmanship from Norway/Poland and Denmark. Gollob choked again, a bit like Nicholls but at least when Nicholls choked he didn't blow his teams chances of winning the title (they had no chance anyway!). Poland can’t win the SWC without Norway’s help and even then it has to be held in Poland. Great Britain should include Commonwealth riders, or at least riders with some vague connection with Great Britain (not just any johnny foreigner who fancies a dabble with the Union Jack on his chest) until we have enough quality English riders to win it by ourselves again. Thanks! Understood that so much more! and yes the rain did spoil it!
