Anders
Hmmmm. What happened here ? Anything particulary ? That would be heat your beloved Bjerre did a pirouette all by his odious little self on turn 2 and still managed to get into the re-run - shameful decision from the referee. Yes, heat 18 was very strange indeed. Watt laid down (even though without contact) as he obviously saw Bjerre coming straight towards him and then Davidsson fell while exiting the second bend. Don't know if Davidsson managed to get up after the fall but I don't to remember him doing that, so I think at least Bjerre and Davidsson should have been excluded for causing the stoppage, possibly even Watt. In the end, the referee took the easy way out by awarding an all four back restart, despite several riders being the cause of the stoppage. Strange. BTW, the best team won so congratulations to Team Denmark!

Pollyanna
absolutely shocking performance from australia last night,i know their chances of winning disappeared with crumpie, but holder aside they put in virtually no effort whatsoever afterwards. if scott nicholls had put the same committment and enthusiasm into a meeting as leigh adams last night he would be getting slaughtered right now.and people wonder why he has never been world champion. nicki may not be the most popular rider with many, but at least he has the stomach for the fight. I thought exacty the same. Adams just wasn't interested was he? Bad luck on Chris Holder in his last ride; in the lead when he gets an ef. The Aussies just had bad luck all night. Well done to Denmark, though and also to Poland, who did so much better on that track than I had expected. Just goes to show...with Speedway, it's always unpredictable. Yep, I, too, thought they gave up the ghost, apart from CH when Crumpy got injured, perhaps the olduns amongst them decided that they would let the other 3 countries fight it out amongst themselves and not get involved in any dodgy manouvres, either that or they literally didn't fancy racing in the conditions ............. hmmmmmm that adds up .......... TCH! Or perhaps they did a TeamGB on it and couldn't work out the right set ups ........... hmmmmmmmm
salty
Just caught up with the World Cup after a week in the wilds of Donegal. Pity the rain spoilt the track in the Final, but top effort from the Poles and Swedes to make a match of it against the heavily fancied Danes. Thought the Danes had a lot of luck go their way with races being stopped and then cashing in on the re-runs. How Bjerre escaped exclusion on the 1st bend of Heat 18 I don't know. I suppose the ref took the conditions into account - a stricter reading of the race could have excluded at least 2 riders... Don't think Gollob did anything wrong in his clash with Bjarne, whose reaction was a bit pathetic. Plus points for Gollob for his earlier interview with Louis. I still have the Coventry round to watch - is it worth it?
Rob B
Denmark were definatly the best team but they had some good luck on the night, few times when a rider fell the Danes were third or last and in the rerun won the race, don't down how Bjerre wasn't excluded when he lost control bringing Watt off.
