Did you see the Danes shouting from the pits and trying to get Kenneth Bjerre to slow down to stop Poland using the joker?

I thought that's what they were doing, and Hans Andersen's after-meeting interview pretty much confirmed it.

A good meeting which I think would have been great but for the loss of Crump and the heavy shower which ruined the track.

As soon as Crump dropped out the Aussies heads dropped and they didn't want to know. A shame.

Denmark the better team and solid throughout. Polish riders were agressive and put themselves about. Sweden battled all the way.

Well done to the Danes.

The Aussies won't like Vojens! Denmark to win by 15 pts....the other 3 will all be pretty close and it may come down to who uses their tactical the best as to who ends up with Silver and Bronze.

Denmark

Poland

Sweden

Australia

Haha I guess in the end Denmark just wanted to keep it close to advoid the Joker

Well done Nicki, PUK, Hans, Bjarne and Kenneth. :approve:

watched the livestream on the internet, really enjoyable and was the sky broadcast too. well done the danes ,deserved winners.

Yes, the Newcastle Select team were worthy winners. As well a Ole, we had Nicki, Bjarne, KB and even Rune Knutsen in the pits. Good meeting.

Agreed - congrats to the Danes, worthy winners. My god have England/GB got some seroius catching up to do!

Anyway Tomasz just said the final (& presumably race-off too) is at Leszno next year - excuse for a few days off work, should be good!

The Spirit of Juul was evident amongst the Geordie Danes.

Just think how could Hans Andersen could have been as a Speedway rider if he made the right choice all those years ago!

2 good calls superguest mate :approve:

Congratulations to Denmark, they stepped up at just the right time. A true champions performance, and deserved winners on a track that certainly didn't favour them in any way.

Poland did themselves proud, although Walasek was embarrassing until the pressure was off. They can clearly call themselves the second best nation now.

Sweden scored well without ever looking comfortable.

Australia, a distant fourth without a race win. Bad news for them, going straight to the final. None of them will take any pleasure out of the night. Get well soon Crumpy.

A decent meeting, a bit of drama, and I'm actually pleased I bothered to watch it !

Australia were robbed of a better go at it once Crump was ruled out through no fault of his own but I don't think anyone could argue that the Danes were clear favourites and delivered. Fully deserved, well done.

Message to Team GB - take a mental note of how Denmark behaved in the pits, you could learn something about team spirit.

Congrats to the Danish team......a deserved win.......

but the whole thing was only a whisker away from a farce because of the ridiculous 'joker' rule.

In the last five heats the Danes were desperately throwing points to avoid going six points behind..........(see N. Pedersen's 3rd place in heat 21.)

In interviews with Andersen it was admitted that a misunderstanding with K.Bjerre (who was expected to 'throw' his race in heat 23) allowed the Poles back into it.

As it happened Gollob blew it........but you could see the Poles planning the same sort of tactics before heat 23, in which Jagus finished 3rd.

A shame that in the final stages of a meeting that this sort of thing should be going on........all down to the stupid double points rule.

Yes massive congrats to Denmark - worthy winners on the night so very proud of the guys, they weren't all on top form but came good when needed and the team spirit they had was great to see. Was paniking a little when DKwent 6 points up before heat 24 but luckily PUK did enough and saved his best till last...

Good meeting for the neutral - had a bit of everything

Was surprised to hear race off and final is at Leszno next year - thought it was a certainty to be held at Cov..so I guess Polska have a "fairly" good chance of winning the gold back

Massive crowd and looked a fun atmosphere - hope Crumpy makes a quick recovery so there can be a good fair battle for the top spot in the gps..
