salty
Hope for David's sake (and for Berwick's) that the field stays the same, because that looks like a cracking line up. The main meeting is not bad either.

screm
If that line up stays that way and nobody pulls out, Should be a cracker. Great line up and if Hancock confirms them it should be a decent meeting.Meldrum was never a superstar rider but a very reliable 2nd string and a handy reserve, just hope the weather behaves its self. David got married yesterday in America so congratulations to him.

Najjer
How old is he now? He can't be that old I don't think. When he rode for Somerset in 2003 (for about half a season until he got injured and then was never heard of again), he must of been about 23 or so.. so at a guess, about 28 years old
kimba
For various reasons we have not been to speedway for a few years, but a meeting for David is a must. The line up for the mini meeting especialy sounds great. Edited August 30, 2008 by kimba
coolcol
According to the Advertiser. Greg Hancock said he would love to come but thats only if his Polish team dont get in to the play off final as the dates would clash. Also No mention of Ricky Ashworth in the line up in the paper but a new name in the frame is Rory Schlein

Ellesmere Gunner
Biggest worry now due to other PL clubs mucking about, ie Sheffield running Junior Meeting when it surely should have been Young Shield, Workington unable to make up their minds and cut off point being too late, will this Meeting get on? For once it seems Berwick are the innocent victims in it all and David.
Ellesmere Gunner
And now it could be Berwick v IOW on Sat 18th October in Young Shield Semi? Can anyone please confirm from IOW?
Ellesmere Gunner
And now it could be Berwick v IOW on Sat 18th October in Young Shield Semi? Can anyone please confirm from IOW? I see from Berwick Press Release that they now face IOW on 18th at Shielfield. Where does this leave David's Testimonial now?
balderdash&piffle
MELDRUMS MILESTONE Due to the Isle Of White refusing to ride this Saturday at Berwick, the management at Berwick Speedway have been forced to stage the clash on Saturday the 18th of October. As this was the date set for MELDRUMS MILESTONE, they have had no option in cancelling Davids Testimonial. DAVIDS PARTY AT THE RUGBY CLUB. WILL CONTINUE AS PLANNED. WE HOPE TO RE-RUN THE EVENT IN EARLY MARCH 2009. A FITTING START TO THE 2009 SEASON. The committe would like to thank Peter Waite for his assistance in staging Davids testimonial, and place no blame on Berwick Speedway. The problem has a occurd due to the Isle of Whites refusal to ride, due to the said club releasing 3 riders for long track events, even though the dates of the Young Shield were agreed well in advance.
