Swift Saint
Sittingbourne is just as far from North West based riders as Plymouth is for North East. I hope it is in the Midlands somewhere myself. Malcolm Vasey

Malcolm Vasey Hi Malcolm, I'd love to see it held in a grand stadium like Coventry, which of course would be nice and central. Staging it there might just encourage a few Elite League fans from the Midlands to go along and have a peep at Conference League for the first time, and see what a great package that level of racing offers. Mike I agree. It needs to be on a neutral track and central to all travelling supporters. We certainly would not travel to Plymouth, too far away. A bit like the PL fours at Workington......too far away and not neutral.
smiler
Give it to Somerset they have one of the best tracks and facilites in the country, proven record with shared events and the sun does shine there too or how about staging a one off at Oxford? I agree with "the nuteral ground" would that mean EL shared events should ride at PL Ground? & PL at EL Tracks? I'll have some of that please! Stephen JIM Owens
Can not understand moving a shared event from a track that attracts one of the boggest crowds in the league. Is this really in the interests of all the clubs? In other words its Plymouths title if they hold it! Where as if its anywhere else, they wont have all their support, they probably wont win it so they wont be happy! I say what about Birmingham, Sheffield but obviously it all depends if there will to allow a Conference League meeting to take place!!! fireblade
Not exactly a neutral track IF anyone should have this event it SHOULD be Sittingbourne 'cos they need it I'd agree with Sittingbourne getting it if nothing else to try and get some people to visit the track who never had before. As this is a shared event though they will benefit exactly the same wherever it is held. But the call about neutral tracks, well Scunthorpe fans didn't exactly complain when they held the pairs. My big fear is that there may be no League next year and the event won't be held.

Midlands isn't exactly the nearest to the North Norfolk Coast, but its a few hours so its not too bad, gives us a better chance anyway! Plymouth is simply too far away, as, sadly, would be Somerset. Somewhere a bit more central could only be good. And neutral, of course, is always better.

Sittingbourne need some help so letting them have the CL Fours seems a good idea. I'm worried about whether CL will happen next season too - if rumours are correct
scribbler
The south is only "too far south" if you live in the north & vice versa!!!!!!! Sittingbourne has the advantage of motorways in the area. I believe that motorways in the SW end at Bath/Bristol. Wiltshire, Dorset and Devon have no motorways (I think) It's so much easier when much of your journey can be travelled on motorways (barring accidents and roadworks) Plus Plymouth is on a Friday - at least a Saturday or a Sunday meeting means that supporters don't have to use up holiday entitlements to attend a meeting. Have a look at an atlas before making inaccurate comments !!!!!! Please spare me this !!!!! Devon has the M5 which ends at Exeter !!! Wiltshire has that "backwater" known as the M4 linking South Wales and London !! The 43 miles of the A38 between Exeter and Plymouth are dual carraigeway throughout .... no travel difficulty there !! Try living in West Cornwall ..... 100 miles from the start of the M5 !!!

PhilK
Any news on what is happening with this years CL 4TT? All seems to have gone rather quiet in the last two weeks!
Devil-Darren
Any news on what is happening with this years CL 4TT? All seems to have gone rather quiet in the last two weeks! nope .. I have heard rumours but that is as far as it gets.. I still think and it isnt because it is my home track Plymouth would be the best bet.. Massive crowds.. due to be on a Saturday night means teams actually making money from it.. there wont be another site that could do that due to the site's costs etc and spectators being there.. we could guarantee our home crowd of 1200+ and then travelling support would far out number any other venue. I would say tell the BSPA to pay the riders more fuel money out of the proceeds from the event problem solved then.. but hey it isnt my choice at the end of the day.. the day to run is a logistical nightmare.. 32 riders... means 32 vans.. parking and pit space is a nightmare Darren
clevelandbay
Good point Darren about the BSPA paying the riders more fuel money. For Gary Beaton and Aaron Summers travelling from Scotland to Plymouth and being offered 10p a mile is a joke, they would be seriously out of pocket. I am disappointed that the BSPA have dithered over this fixture because we were going to travel from Teesside to support our team. Because it has seemingly been taken away from Plymouth and no alternative venue has been found, if they intend to run the meeting on the same evening we can now no longer attend as we have now cancelled the original time we booked off work. nope ..
