Nutz
I'd call Group A the group of death... Just hope the other teams in it are like the French and don't turn up!!!! Doubt Young Mr Lawson will be in attendance for us:(
Ellesmere Gunner
As long as we have Rymel but think he maybe away on czech duty.I will be there along with many other fans.Workington fans had to travel down to Somerset to see them win the pairs so why not vice versa. I think its a good idea to spread the big meetings around. Unless I am very much mistaken, Rymel and Aarnio both miss this due to Czech and Finnish Championships. Interesting to see if Messrs Topinka/Nieminen etc are away too?

Thats the best result for Berwick it seems

samsplint
As far as I know Adrian will not be in our 4's team dont know about Tero. As to venue for this meeting I think it should be on an elite league track so should the PLRC and pairs so there is no home advantage
richgp54
Yes you are very correct; I along with several thousands of regulars on this forum will not be attending. Now had the event be staged at a track less then 1 hours drive away from any major city. I’m sure many thousands of forum members may have attended regardless of the teams involved. Carlisle is a City It is just over an hours drive from Carlisle and Workington is not far from the Lake District National Park. Carlisle links directly with the North West, Yorkshire and Humberside by the M6, M61, M62 and adjoining motorways. Take the M25, M1 (or M40) and M6 for a speedy journey from London and the South East. The M74/A74, A7 and A69 are the quickest routes from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle respectively. Carlisle is approximately a two-hour drive from Stranraer on the A75. You see, it is accessible and no I am not from Workington. As to venue for this meeting I think it should be on an elite league track so should the PLRC and pairs so there is no home advantage Who needs home advantage when we can have REF advantage? I agree with you that all PL events should be on neutral tracks but as everybody witnessed at the pairs and week in, week out Somerset produces some of the best racing available and it would be a loss to the premier league to take this away from them. samsplint
With the conditions emposed by the BPSA I'm suprised any track wants to hold these events
Chris
I don't have a "problem". Just that out of the four Premier League events three are in the "North". Thats been the problem with most of these events for the past few years and why most teams fans don't give a toss about them. Stuck up in the far north of the country with crap weather usually about as usual in the grim North and in not particularly nice stadia with massive home track advantage. What was wrong with the fours back at Peterborough last season. Traditional home, no home track advantage, good track, decent venue and decent crowd? Little Jonny wanted to make a mark with these events, but after a season it looks like he couldn't be bothered and went back to venues and areas of the country that don't work. Still he doesn't have to worry anymore as someone upset him and he took his crayons away.

I am originally from the north and the weather can be crap anywhere and there are grim places in the south as well.

''Happy talking talking, happy talk'' Wherever people hold these events there will always be some who don't like it. So it's up north, get over it. I will however agree with you about the 4's last year being at Peterborough, it was fantastic, and even moreso as it was a neutral venue. You don't know the whole story about what happened regarding JC, and if you did you might not be quite so quick to gob off about things you know nothing of. wjm
According to the site, the qualifying criteria is the 7 highest average teams (top four riders only) up to and including Saturday 14th June plus one wild card. I make Newcastle the wild card from my own personal calcs - well they couldn't really make it Glasgow could they and they would probably have gone for the nearest local club who didn't qualify who would bring the biggest support I expect (thats what Golasgow did re the Pairs a couple of years ago) So was English wrong when he said Newcastle are the 4th highest team in the league top four wise, don't know what is right now
