Tsunami
does anyone happen to know what the actual race format is going to be for this event ? ie who's in what heat, who goes through to which semis/finals and so on ? the info on the super7even website seems about as useful as a one legged man in an a*se kicking competition and i'm not sure if they're even using the proper standard 4TT format - so if anyone knows anything for certain i'd be interested. ta! I don't know the details but in the SS, Ian Thomas is saying that the format is 8 heats in each semi final then 12(instead of the usual 16) in the final. So it's now 28 races. Hope that helps. diamond@heart
Anyone know what the Diamonds lineup is gonna be? What is the likelihood of Christian riding?
Paulco
Hate to say it , but the way riders are pulling out , this might end up another PL Pairs meeting . Stoney being the latest after pulling out after heat 1 while guesting for Edinburgh tonight .

diamond@heart
Anyone know the official team lineups, taking injuries into account??
srbramble
Maybe Rye turned it down? I would be disappointed if that was the case. I'd love my club to have the opportunity to compete on saturday night. I appreciate that scunthorpe is closer, and they probably would have more fans travelling, but is that really how it should be decided who gets the wildcard, if it was the case, that rye had a better average than scunthrope? diamond@heart
This meeting keeps getting better by the sounds of it, no Pepe (Czech Finals) and possibly no Christian (due to injury). Anyone got any further rider updates??

Anyone got any further rider updates?? This meeting should be held on a neutral track, why not Peterborough which is really its home. It should also be held on a pairs format as apposed to the way it's always been run, have never understood why it was 4 individuals per heat, why did the BSPA scrap the qualifying rounds as to who gets to the final. \if like others have suggested it be run after the main season has been completed then you could use the top 8 teams. tigerblues
At this rate whichever riders turn up are going to get a ride, regardless if they're there to take part or as a spectator could script this, injuries near events like this! Because it gets voted on at the annual conference every year and the Southern teams always out-vote the Northern teams and the 'old' qualifying rounds are no more, unfortunately. Subedei
Because it gets voted on at the annual conference every year and the Southern teams always out-vote the Northern teams and the 'old' qualifying rounds are no more, unfortunately. And it is a shame. The old qualifying rounds were a real highlight of the season, Four team events have always been a favourite of mine - the combination of individual and team speedway. Always provided great meetings. And continues to do so. The SWC is infinitely superior, in racing terms, to the GPs.
bellevueace
With rider withdrawls must admit this meeting is becoming less and less attractive, probably save some driving hours and go to stoke sunday instead.

We've had 3 away wins already this season.

Stephen JIM Owens
heard that Simon Lambert was in to replace Rusty Harrison! only a rumour though!
ajh
heard that Simon Lambert was in to replace Rusty Harrison! only a rumour though! Would seem a strange one if true because AFAIK Rusty's not picked up an injury. I was hoping he might be a trump card with all his previous Derwent Park experience. Good luck to Lambo if that's the case though. Any news on whether Nermark and Stoney are likely to be fit? See Topinka is guesting for Dan on Sunday so I'm guessing he won't be riding A Workington lineup without Dan and Stoney really opens it up IMO. Could be a cracker. tigerblues
Nermark definitely isn't. I agree that this leaves it wide open though, and Worky although will still probably be competitive, will no longer start as favourites.
