srbramble
Scunthorpe are to replace Berwick on Saturday http://www.british-speedway.co.uk/news.php?extend.1697 Is that because they are the next best team, or is it soley an invitation? If its the latter, then this meeting is now a complete joke.
tigerblues
Shame Berwick have had to be pulled since they were in on merit and with a fully fit/available 4 from their team they'd have a good chance. The Scunny 4 isn't great but could possibly be spoilers and take points off most. Are they actually next in line or have they got a "wildcard" if that would be the right way to put it. richgp54
these type of meetings should be end of season events IMO. riders getting injured at a non event is not good. league matches are priority. lets hope if it goes ahead everyone will come thru unscathed. I think they must have. Rye House top 4 comes out as 29.48 whilst Scunthorpe are only 27.01.
Chris
The meetings mickey mouse. Couldn't give two hoots that Rye have been overlooked even if they qualify above Scunthorpe. It just makes the meeting even more laughable.

It just makes the meeting even more laughable. I don't know about it being "Mickey Mouse", but it certainly whiffs a little of Northern bias. I doubt we'd have been anywhere near the podium, but it's certainly robbed the paying public of the sight of Tai Woffenden. At least our boys should be fresh for the PL match with Berwick on Sunday. tigerblues
I don't know about it being "Mickey Mouse", but it certainly whiffs a little of Northern bias. Maybe that's the reason behind it.. Scunny is closer, maybe more chance of their fans making the trip etc?
Blazeaway
Maybe Rye turned it down?
Gaz
So with Christian hurt and having a fitness test on Friday and rumours Pepe is in the Czech Championship, could we be getting pulled out to
Ellesmere Gunner
Sorry to hear that Berwick have had to withdraw, I imagine no Rymel, Aarnio, Magosi or Atkin No choice really.

bellevueace
Where are these forecasts for heavy showers ? On metcheck and the bbc weather service. The text service on the comets official site seems a good way to keep informed. Edited July 24, 2008 by bellevueace
Liz !!!
I live pretty close to the track and the forecast for my postcode area is for some showers but nothing significant, its very warm tonight and has been a very hot day, fingers crossed for perhaps a little cooler day and a pleasant evening for speedway
June
I think they must have. Rye House top 4 comes out as 29.48 whilst Scunthorpe are only 27.01. Not sure which averages apply, but looking at our own website our latest average for the top for riders is 29.53. As regards to selection I haven't a clue. geordieboi
does anyone happen to know what the actual race format is going to be for this event ? ie who's in what heat, who goes through to which semis/finals and so on ? the info on the super7even website seems about as useful as a one legged man in an a*se kicking competition and i'm not sure if they're even using the proper standard 4TT format - so if anyone knows anything for certain i'd be interested. ta!
