Is this an error or one of those - 'no purchase necessary'clause. And - will you have a punt?? Terms and Conditions This competition is also subject to the following terms and conditions. You should make sure you read the terms and conditions below and on the link above because your participation constitutes your acceptance of such terms and conditions. 1. How it works. 1.1. The TEAM GB Auction runs from 12pm Thursday 26th June 2008 to 12pm 11th July 2008 1.2. The Competition is run and managed by British Speedway Promoters Association 1.3. Words such as pence or pounds will be ignored. Rockets Auction 150 = an entry with a bid of £1.50p 1.4. You can bid for the Competition at any time during the Competition Period. Any bids received before or after this time will not be included in the competition 1.5. The winner will be the participant whose text, at the close of the Competition Period, received by us contains the lowest bid and such a bid has not been given by any other participant during the Competition Period 1.6. The text message must be actually registered by us for the bid to be considered a valid bid 1.7. You may only bid if you are 16 years or over. Any winners or contestants who cannot or do not, if requested, provide proof of age will be disqualified 2. Payment 2.1. Texts cost £1.00. The total cost of your text may vary depending on the particular network used by you. Charges for entering the Competition will be deducted from the contestant's available credit time if they are a pre-pay customer or will appear on the monthly statement if they are a pay monthly customer 2.2. We may send you notifications about the status of your bid or other messages concerning the auction. These will be sent at no premium cost to you 2.3. If you text in outside of the Bidding Period or Competition Period, notwithstanding your bid will not be considered valid, you will pay for the text, we strongly advise you adhere to the Bidding Periods. 3. Prizes and General 3.1. The prize pool for the Competition consists of 2 VIP tickets to the World Cup qualifier at Coventry on the 14th July 2008. Exclusive Team GB pit wear. Be featured in a team picture with the TEAM GB riders. Receive a framed signed picture of you in the TEAM GB picture. The Winner will be announced via http://www.british-speedway.co.uk/ on the afternoon of the 11th July 2008. 3.2. Prizes are subject to availability and may be subject to change at our discretion 3.3. In all matters our decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into 3.4. The winner will be contacted by the phone number that the winning text was sent from 3.5. You may only enter this competition as an individual; entries that, in our absolute discretion, have been made via participation in a syndicate will be disqualified 3.6. Any entries made, in our absolute discretion, via any form of machine assisted intervention enabling multiple entries will be disqualified 3.7. Refund will not be made if bids are disqualified under clauses 3.6 and 3.7 3.8. Entrants may submit more than one bid; notwithstanding each entry will be subject to clause 2.1 and clauses 3.6 and 3.7 of these terms and conditions 3.9. We reserve the right to withdraw any prize not claimed within 14 days following the winner being notified 3.10. The winner is not required to pay the winning bid amount in order to claim the prize 3.11. The Competition is to be advertised on http://www.british-speedway.co.uk, in Speedway club programmes and websites. 3.12. The minimum bid is 1 and maximum bid is 999999 3.13'In the event that there is no 'unique' lowest bid' a tie-break question will be asked and a winner selected at random from the correct responses sent to the tie-break question, winners will be notified as per the Terms & Conditions 3.14 By sending in a mobile entry to any British Speedway Promoters Association mobile promotions you are agreeing to receive ‘free' alerts for future games and promotions from the BSPA and their partners. Chivs Posted July 7, 2008 Report Share Posted July 7, 2008 Sandie I would have thought it is correct - it is one of those clauses that are put in as you have already actually paid £1 to enter the competition by text (probably £1 plus standard network charges so approx £1.10 or £1.20.
