I was situated near to some fans that cheered everytime Nikki came off the bike, and shouted abuse at him when the referee made his decisions. Two Polish fans behind me shouted what I would consider the worst swear words in use at him when Rune Holta ran into the back of his bike, even threatening him. All this was in English.

I for one applauded his efforts in removing his bike from the track having done a double somersault with a triple salkow along the home straight.

Cheering when riders come off is, IMO, not acceptable. Cheering when they put the bike through the tapes, or have a puncture or some other such thing that does not have the potential to injure them, is.

Booing a rider like Nikki P when he comes to the mic to be interviewed will only spur him on.

I don't like Nikki P. I think he has crossed the line between what is hard riding and what is dangerous riding. But that doesn't mean I want to see him hurt. Love him or loathe him, you can never ignore him.

The country hates CHEATS more and the well-informed majority of the crowd understood that Nicki knew exactly what he was doing in both heats !

But he didn't know what he was doing when he was doing somersaults when he crashed at 60mph on the home straight. Thankfully it didn't, but he could of ended up like Garry Stead or Lawrence Hare, but in the eyes of some people on here it's okay to cheer because of previous incidents

The lack of knowledge sported by the majority booing Nicki when he was taken out etc does not suprise me about modern day fans.

You have to remember this is not the deck chair, wooly blanket, anoraks of the past booing Nicki, its the new 2003+ onwards Coventry & Poole fans who are running speedway to its knees.

with the song that was apparently aimed at nicki, i would hope those morons from the box get their marching orders.

The Poles by me in the Family Stand were booing Chris Harris when he got up and slagging off the Brits all night calling them winkers.Land of hope and glory really got them going in an orgasmic state of abuse.

You weren't by any chance somewhere near the top in U36 were you?

Or was there more than one group of Poles like that yesterday? :(

That`s exactly where i was .I`ve done some things in my time but never given abuse like that when families were around...rugby fan see.If that`s what they`re all like over here after a few beers, bring back the Iron Curtain.I saw many around Cardiff yesterday and the majority seemed extremely loud and hostile.

Rant over.

I have to disagree with you there, John. The particular "supporters" who abused me (which resulted in tears) and booed Nicki before he'd got up on two occasions were older people who, judging by their programme boards etc, weren't newcomers to the sport.

Can't stand they guy, I happily booed him all night but when he was climbing on the podium I thought the booing was poor. The guy had a massive crash yet dragged his bike off the track and it's not the first time he's done it.

He plays the system, good for him, it his job to do that.

Totally agree, in both races against Leigh and Bjarne he knew he had to get over the rider off 1 to have a chance of winning it, both times he come up short but knew if he was clipped off his bike it would be re-run. IMO I dont believe he thought either would excluded, he just did it to make sure he got a 2nd go at it.

Sadly for both guys the ref mades some serious errors (which I cant understand why as he had enough video evidence to make a better judgement of the incidents).

I think its about his 3/4 time now ive seen him in a final, were he has crashed whilst chasing and has always fort to get him and bike off the track to stop the race getting red flagged. For that he should be praised for as he could of easierly laid there yesterday knowing Crumpy was leading it.

(Before anyone asks, I cant stand Nicki personally but when a rider gets slated on her unfairly im happy to defend their corner)

Ah. It was all pantomine!

Was one of the few clapping him back in to the pits, whilst the scottish fella behind me hurled abuse. Think it got to him, as at the end he shouted "bet you want Germany to win tomorrow as well"

Me too. He's my favourite rider and I'll support him until he retires, no matter what abuse I get hurled at me by so-called supporters!

Can't say he's one of my favourites, but don't have the same dislike of him as many. Don't let other people get to you, and enjoy supporting whoever you want to :approve:

Now if it was Hans Andersen

Pls explain how being knocked off ur bike is cheating?

Lying on the deck feigning injury isnt a crime either is it?

If you hate him, just say you hate him, dont blame him for Adams and Bjarnnes demise, they both CLEARLY MADE CONTACT WITH HIM, the stupid knut in the referees box made the night a shambles no Mr Pedersen

Fans don't usually boo bad opponents, I'm sure Nicki takes the booing as a compliment, as in most part he should. Well out of order for people not to respect his post match interview though. I don't believe he deserved to be in the final but would have liked to have heard what he said.

As said many times it wasn't his fault that the referee made two dreadful decisions, I've never yet seen a rider rush to the phone to plead that his opponent shouldn't have been thrown out...

The people who will really deserve serious abuse are those who select the referees if they don't immediately announce that this idiot is suspended from officiating at all future GP events. Sadly ridiculous decisions are rather more common in SGP than they ought to be, given the endless camera shots from all sorts of angles.

Strange that the fans objecting to the booing of N Pedersen are Newcastle fans

You're obviously only reading some of the posts then. Anyway, when are you joining us in Geordie land. (or can you not get a visa) :approve:
