I think he was actually trying to complete the race rather than getting off the track, wasn't he?:lol:

I thought the same too but he simply ran out of time. 2 points could be difference now between him and Crump at the end of the season. Crump made 6 points on him in just one race.

what was so bad about the track? it's normal for cardiff and any of them who can't ride it can't call themselves a rider of grand prix standard. crump was fine, hancock looked comfortable with it and though excluded in the final, Nicholls was adapting well. HOWEVER, once again, young Nicki saw his popularity stakes fall even further tonight. To see both Adams and Bjarne excluded for absolutely nothing when they were already AHEAD of Pedersen, he is just taking the pi$$... so justice was done in the final when he scored. don't get me wrong, I don't like seeing riders suffer injuries but nicki deserved NOTHING from the final and he got what he deserved. as the old addage goes, "what goes around comes around."

mind you, think our polish "pal" needs to get his eyes check or remove the wool from in front of them. that was honestly the WORST and most inadept performance I have ever seen from a referee. that was so woeful, I could have been blindfolded and still done a better job than him.

mind you, perhaps wario should be first name... as he looks like he ate all the cream cakes :lol:

I for one don't enjoy seeing riders continually come so close to disaster.A few of these temporary tracks have been dangerous and it is only because of the skill of the riders and not a small amount of luck that a serious accident hasn't yet happened.

Not sure how Nicki is taking the .......The fault is entirely with the ref and it should be the last GP he ever officiates at

Wonderful win for Crumpy, welcome back mate.

Highlight for me, apart from that, was the Millenium Stadium version of Land of Hope and Glory. The playing and timing of that was inspired. From what I could hear the music was spot on all night and it drowned out the dreaded air horns, or was that the confiscation of all non official ones  Not entirely sure that Bomber was fit to race following that crash but you can't knock him for it.

Track was carp, referee was atrocious and needs to be sacked, that apart and ignoring anything to do with English language assassin Ermolenko it was a thoroughly enjoyable GP :approve:

I guess that means that young Wojaczek doesn't indulge in beer.

absolutely not sub, the only thing he looked like he had tonight was stuffing all the cream cakes - the fat git :lol:

He'd probably be drinking British stuff. That wouldn't work. Now German beer is another thing entirely. All GP refs should be supplied with it at meetings

Don't get me wrong, each occasion I think NP was to blame, but he was not conning anyone, he just got very, very lucky.

Nonsense.

Nicki knows exactly where to put himself to take a soft fall. He's done it several times in GP's.

Tonight: mid-track first bend, turn front wheel in, take a touch, slide off, wave arms in the air towards ref.................grin like Cheshire cat on way back to pits. Disgraceful.

Absolutely disgusted with the 'fans', who cheered when Nicki P fell off in the final

He landed on his head and did a couple of somersaults across the track, but the anti- Nicki P fans found it hilarious

There are far too many serious injuries in speedway and fans cheering a rider when he falls, is just pure pathetic and disrespectful.

Also, the decisions between N.Pedersen/ B.Pedersen/ Adams, were all made by the referee not Nicki P. So I don't see how in this world you can blame Nicki, when it is obviously down to the referee's judgement of the incident

Really enjoyed this (bottle of wine helped).

Referee - Pitiful

Track - Usual Cardiff, ruts providing the thrills and spills. a shame as Copenhagen proves that the concept can fully deliver

Presentaton - From my view on the couch, the musical choice seemed fantastic, with the walk of Harris providing a genuine TV moment, the flame throwers looked great as well

Crowd - Looked pretty similar to last year, but as always will be open to debate

Race of the night - The Brits relegating NP.

and Scott you tube!!!

Anyway game on.........

Unfortunately when the Grand Prix are held on a proper track Ole and his "team "even make a mess of that by making them slick. Proper track a nice bit of dirt and these men will show you what SPEEDWAY really is . Whilst i really admire the superb skills of the top men these are the same people who would walk out of a league match pack up and go home if faced with the conditions they have had tonight. It is happening to often now , if man - made tracks cannot be perfected by now they never will be IMO.

Give it up, the Kings Lynn family :wink: seem to be sticking together on this one

On a serious note - THE TRACK, IF YOU CAN CALL IT THAT, IS A DISGRACE - Get back to proper speedway tracks

Problem - Find a proper track in the country that can attract approx 45,000 people . Do you seriously want to go back to Coventry and 8,000 !

Excellent post, as you say Nicki didn't make the decisions that priviledge goes to that oversized lump of lard that was disguised as a ref, and I too thought it totally out of order to cheer when Nicki fell off, I am not a fan of NP by any means and don't think he should of even qualified for the semi's but luck was on his side until his fall which did look quite nasty and painful and he certainly didn't deserve the cheers for falling, for getting up when possibly injured and clearing the track yes but not for his fall.

Well done Crumpy.

I certainly wouldn't like to be bomber at the moment as he is gonna hurt big time, but what a guy.

I know Lupus, had to read it twice but I agree too.

Pedersen can count himself VERY lucky to have been in the final at all. Should have been excluded for touching the tapes in his 2nd (?) ride let alone the let off's he got for riding into the back of Adams & Bjarne Pedersen.

The ref clearly didn't want to be outdone by Graham Flint at the PL Pairs last night, well congratulations Mr Wojaczek as to$$er contests go I think you just about pipped Flint on that performance tonight.

Congratulations to Crumpy & Greg though, both really looked up for it tonight. Commiserations to Adams & BP, takes a lot for them to publically lose their rag but their comments were fully justified tonight.

Shame Gollob didn't fancy it tonight, and can't believe Nicholls choked in the final after riding well all evening.

I was trembling a bit tonight, I have to be honest. I stared my worst nightmare in the face; the British champion winning a GP. But, as it turned out, he didn't let me down.

However, to be fair to the fellow, he rode very well tonight. But I have grave doubts about whether either Kelvin Tatum MBE or Middlo made a material difference - he always does reasonably well at Cardiff.
