Jacques
I heard in commentary Eastie that he's doing Latvia & Gelsenkirchen. Personally, his performance on Saturday should be reported by F.I..M Jury President &former rider Ila Teromaa, this guy has been useless from day one &they should surely be looking at revoking his F.I.M license. After last year I swore I'd never return to Gelsenkirchen, then thought maybe I might change my mind, not now I won't
Dietbowers
Despite the obvious bias against Nicki on this thread, most seem to have discounted the rules of the sport. No such ruling as 'all4 back for 1st bend bunching'. In the case of a collision, when all 4 are attempting to go for the racing line, the referee allows an unsatisfactory start when a rider is usually downed. In the first decision, Leigh deliberately chose to go past the racing line nearest the kerbing to block the line on Nicki, and took the front wheel away of Nicki who was going in midtrack. The sole cause of the stoppage was the rider riding into Nicki and that was Leigh. Most referees these days tend not to want to make a decision and settle for the easy 'unsatisfactory start' decision. This ref was hard and stuck to the rules as laid down. Unfortunately for Bjarne, he did an identical move at the same spot, and for the same reason, and therefore because of Leigh's decision had to have a similiar exclusion. It was a shame for Mr Clean and Mr Nice as some other riders have been included in the all4back when they have clearly been the cause of previous stoppages. I wonder what the refs decision would have been if Hans had fallen on the first bend when Jason did a very similar and more violent and dramatic drift across Hans's line from an inside gate. The decisions were hard and surprised many, but they were not wrong and they were not the fault of the downed rider. As to Nicki staying down, there are 2 reasons as others have alluded to. One is he was buying time to get his bike checked out to repair it or to get a second bike set up in time for the rerun. The second is at the usual insistence of the doc/firstaiders to check everything over and get his breath back prior to standing up incase he feints on standing up. Standard practice for all riders and NOT invented by, or being played out soley by, the nation's villian Nicki. The collision from Rune was just a pure lift and go after Rune hit a rut and lost it. True to form of course, the illogical decide to boo Nicki just to check their lungs were working. Nice to see Rune go up to nicki and apologise for HIS mistake. Not the best of nights for Nicki and fortunate to make the semi's but then fully deserved his place in the final. A bad gate, and a nip by Greg and Jason, and there was obviously too much for him to do to catch them. Despite causing his own downfall on the home straight, he managed to drag his bike across the track to prevent stopping the race. What a man. I think Jason owes Nicki twice now as I seem to remember the same senario last year when it was also Jason in the lead and Nicki did the same thing then. As others have said, people like Nicki go better when they are seen to be the villian. A 2 times World Champion, and leading this year as well, he is no clown/cheat and is better than almost every rider in the world. The scene would be a lot duller if the Nicki's, Hans, Jason's of the world were not in the field. They excite the meeting and don't back off especially when the prize is the World Championship. Best of luck to Nicki for the rest of the year. It was noticible that the downed rider was always Nicki, I wonder why. Go Nicki. I`ve got to admit that your posts normally make at least some sense somewhere, but I`m failing big time with this one. Did you have your white stick and Labrador with you? John Hannibal Thomas
Specsavers actually sponsor Scottish referees and it doesn't make a blind bit of difference, all decisions still go in a Glasgow direction! don't you mean edinburgh? Did you have your white stick and Labrador with you? As soon as I saw the line that Leigh took, rather than go for the kerb and then took Nicki off, I said immediately that Leigh was out. I sat in the middle of the 1st and 2nd corner and he WAS the prime cause of the stoppage and all4back was not even a consideration. Bjarne's was harsh but he did exactly what Leigh did so had to have the same punishment. Both Leigh and Bjarne went for the man and not the racing line which was as close to the kerb as they could get. That's the rules. NO, just wor lass. Me,I`ll stick to the notion that the ref and Nicki Pedersen were in the wrong, guess the numbers would come out in our favour. iris123
I mean if you watch it again Adams is a loon.He nearly takes Rune Holta out and then wipes Nicki out Is this the new aggresive Leigh he promised us a couple of years back? Tsunami, you and I both know that Nicki is not always the guilty party, but he always seems to be in the "thick" of the action. On this particular evening,he had a ref that sided with him, let`s hope when we get a better class of ref he does`nt complain too much if it happens to him, after all,I`ve never known Nicki go from gate one straight to the outside before

Dear dear me, Leigh moved slightly off the kerb as was necessary to get the 'slide' into the corner right, Nicki moved from the air fence to almost on the white line!!! (taking the noses off AJ and Holta in the process) and then clipped Adams' back wheel when he saw he wasn't going to beat him to the corner! Leigh was IN FRONT and the bikes don't have wing mirrors you know...

Tsunami
Hmm,nobody else to play with iris? Adams was in front as well, Being in front means nowt. There is no such rule that the man in front can do anything. Been said time and time again. Be interesting if some riders change their approach into the first corner in future GP's. In other races nearly all the riders rode the kerb but Leigh and Bjarne had other plans and got caught. Nuff said.

Rob B
Controversial decisions of the Polish referee, Marek Wojaczek, during Cardiff GP, has caused a lot of bad feelings among speedway supporters. The internet website www.sportowefakty.pl, has asked Mr Wojaczek to justify them. " I've acted according to the rules" - said Mr Wojaczek. That's all I can say in answer to your question. The rules are straightforward - if there is possibility to pin point the rider causing the stoppage of a race, then this rider ought to be excluded. In my opinion Leigh Adams, as well as Bjarne Pedersen extended their line and because of that they were excluded" - explains Marek Wojaczek. Mr Wojaczek's decisions made it possible for the Danish World Champion, Nicki Pedersen, to progress into the final. This in turn created speculation about possible pressure inflicted on referees from Ole Olsen, who is also responsible for preparing the Grand Prix tracks. Mr Wojaczek denied any of these, saying: " I can only speak for myself. There was no pressure whatsoever during the event. I doubt if there was any pressure put upon referees during any other events. I doubt it whether any referee would allow himself to be influenced by outside pressure. The Polish referee is convinced that he made the right decision and claims that they were not questioned by the FIM authorities. "After the GP event there is always a meeting of the GP jury in the presence of Mr Roy Otto, the chairman of FIM Track Comission. Nobody raised this matter and nobody questioned my decisions. Did Nick Pedersen benefit from Marek Wojaczek's decisions. Yes, he did. If that is the case then another question raises its head - were Leigh Adams and Bjarne Pedersen wronged by Mr Wojaczek? "During a race, riders' names don't come into reckoning. What counts is the rider - in white, red, blue and yellow. I always make decisions on this understanding, regardless of which name is actually on a track. My decisions were consistent because both situations were almost identical. I believe that there was no error of judgement on my part". - said Mr Wojaczek.
Trees
Well there u have it, obviously the FIM aren't gonna do anything about the wonderful ref so it's up to the riders!
Hector
So the rest of the FIM are in need of a trip to Specsavers as well. Does anyone know what the majority of fans are saying on the comments page?
