I believe Stoney and Steady both sadly had to pull out but I know that people have been working hard to get a replacement and I think there will be another release shortly with the final name. If its who I've heard rumoured I think it will be of great interest to Worky fans.

As pcthelegend says though, keep checking Davids website for detals as any news will be released there first when its confirmed

The dreaded phone calls have been received over the last few days which now means a few of the big names are no longer available as we all know in speedway these are the risks when putting together competitive teams - Stewart and Alan can keep their job, as I for one would not be a promoter.

Unfortunatly Joe Screen picked up an injury in Sweden during the week.

Rusty Harrison texted David from hospital to say sorry mate can't make it now. - we wish Rusty a speedy recovery.

Simon Stead not recovered from broken collarbone.

Robert Nagy - hand injury.

Daniel Nermark riding in Poland

The final three riders confirmed for David's Farewell meeting tomorrow, Sunday 7th September are

James Birkenshaw

Mitchell Davey

Richard Lawson

I am looking forward to seeing Richard Lawson riding and also Jeremia Thelaus.

Jeremia scored 12+3 (6) in the meeting Valsarna v Solkatterna.

Lets all do a SUN dance!!!

Regardless of who is riding , we'll all be there in force to pay homage to one of the most popular riders that Scotland has produced . This is one day when we all ( Tigers , Monarchs , Comets , Bandits and whoever else ) are united in support .

David deserves a sunny day and a large crowd so we can all say thanks for the wholehearted way he represented all his clubs during his career , and we wish him well for whatever he now chooses to do in his life .

I might make the trip up for this meeting if the weather holds out. Lawson riding certainly makes it more appetising. I would love to see him ride in a competitive meeting rather than having just seen him ride in 2nd halfs at DP. So is he riding for Workington? Whats the complete lineups?

ETA: Just looked at his website, I thought Stoney was riding in this? I remember reading that a while back but he doesnt appear in our team. Any ideas?

You've done a tremendous job Coppernut, well done in putting it all together AND for using common sense with the rider distribution to keep it a competitive meeting!

Looks like a great afternoon and I hope as many as possible turn up, David certainly deserves it. I always had a lot of respect for David as a rider and he ALWAYS took time out to speak to anyone who wanted to. I have nothing but complete admiration and respect for the dignified way he has dealt with what life has now thrown at him - or the way you had everyone in tears then laughing as you matter of factly explained some of what you've been through so far you git!

The long range forecasts are all looking good for tomorrow afternoon, so they should, they say the sun shines on the righteous eh Coppernut?

If you can, get along to Ashfield tomorrow afternoon, its gonna be one helluva day!

Whats the weather looking like up there? Its been awful here and I know its supposed to be moving up, parts of the North East are under water.

Believe it or not it's been warm and sunny with a bit of a breeze all day . Forecast for tomorrow looks good as well - so the raingods look like giving David a break .
