Bryn
Except that Crump has been named in Vetlanda's squad in Sweden on Tuesday. Can anyone confirm please? Re Jason Crump... situation will be clarified in the morning. He wasn't originally down to ride in Sweden as I understand it but Rune Holta getting hurt in Saturday's GP may have brought about a change in plans. Rest assured the Bunyanator informs me he has a list of "suitable alternatives" lined up eager to step into the breach IF Crumpie has to go to Sweden. Bryn
Raceday weather check: Just turned 11.30am and have just spoken to Dave Pavitt who's on the Island. Pretty windy but DRY thank goodness! Looking at the various projected rainfall charts, they anticipate the possibility of a shower around lunchtime but that there will be NO further wetstuff falling after that! Hopefully there'll be a good turn out to pay tribute to the Bunyanator and to enjoy themselves!
Bobafet
Shame Jason Crump wont be riding, was looking foward to see how he went around the Smallbrook track. Still looks to be a competative line up though. Weather is breezy but dry with sunny spells. Hope there is a good turn out for Bunyan as he has been a good rider for the I.O.W for a number of years. A mile from the track & there is Sunshine, then cloudy, some blue sky, cloudy then Sunshine, it is starting to look busy at the track as I passed on my way home. I hope there is as big a crowd as last week for Bunny.

tomcat
Gutted I couldn't be there for this one. Always got on well with Jase and his Dad. Unfortunately, traveling distances and ill health mean't this was a no go. Just chuffed that a good crowd turned out and that the whole evening was a success. One of speedway's Mr Nice guys is our Jase. Here's hoping that he'll be gracing the UK's (and New Zealand ) speedways for years to come. Bryn
Good to see a massive crowd at Jase's Testimonial including Island MP Andrew Turner and the legendary Jet Harris from the Shadows who's been to quite a few meetngs on the Island where he now lives. Jet told me that he's always been a speedway fan having been a Wembley Lions follower in his youth. It was a night of sheer entertainment from start to finish that included a stunt show, vintage speedway bike racing, sidecars, minibikes, a gorilla charging around on a Quad bike (?!!), plus fun and games galore including an adult "jousting arena" where I'm told tthe likes of Chris Holder received a few bashes! Don't worry Poole fans he's fine and bashed all his opponents back in style! And there was certainly a dramatic climax to the night's events when speedway riders, who'd earlier done battle in the Global Pairs main event, gleefully whacked the living daylights out of each as they swopped two wheels for four to take part in the Demolition Derby that ended in dramatic fashion when the car driven by Jason Bunyan himself caught fire! Thankfully he escaped totally unscathed clambering out of his wrecked vehicle in double quick time to the sound of mightily relieved cheers from all on the terraces! bunyan
Thanks to the promotion for letting me run this meeting, my organising comittee in making this event happen, all my mates for turning up and putting on an awesome speedway meeting. Credit to the acu and the scb for letting this run as a combined event. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and hope those who turned up did as well. jb
