ylinenhare5-1
Congrats to team GB. A rather good, consistent score from William to score 10. Runners up is no disgrace considering the opposition. iris123
Pretty good performance. But doubt if that will be enough.I would guess Poland and Australia will go through from the other semi with more points considering the weak Slovenian side

HenryW
A fine result for the Brits, but what was up with Emil today? No way should he be dropping some of the points that he did today. As for ylinenhare5-1....I expect better of you! (see below) England(красный 1.Ben Barker [1,1,3,0,1] = 6 2.William Lawson [2,2,3,1,2] = 10 3.Simon Lambert [0,0,0,3,0] = 3 4.Lewis Bridger [2,1,0,3,3] = 9 5.Tai Woffinden [3,3,3,1,1] =

Subedei
A fine result for the Brits, but what was up with Emil today? No way should he be dropping some of the points that he did today. It looks like Artiom Laguta could be as bright a prospect as Sajfutdinov on this showing. I believe Laguta Jnr is just 17-years-old, slightly younger than Sajfutdinov. Together, they could lead Russia into a glorious era.

Subedei
Okay, so what is the actual result, since there seems to be a difference of opinion: http://www.speedway.org/wm/2008/index.html#speedwayjunteam That has the Czech Republic second and Great Britain third. Lets just wait for the official results, mistakes happen. As an example, the site quoted has Chris Harris riding for Australia in the next semi. Sportowe Fakty at http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2008/06/...zesi-poczekaja/ has the same result as speedway.org - but point scorers are different! Anders
...and the Inspeed.de forum has a different result/point scores as well. How on earth can four different sources have four different results!?
Merlin
Looking at the individual heat results it looks as though Britain came second with 39 points to Sweden's 42. But maybe the heat results are wrong too!! Or maybe they just can't add. There again it depends on which heat results you look at! It seems that the discrepancy may have something to do with heat 12. One site has Thomas Jonasson winning it with William Lawson last while the other has William Lawson winning it from Jonasson. Anders
Final Result and details (courtesy of forum.speedway.ru: 12.William Lawson, Tomas Jonasson, Hynek Stichauer, Alexander Kosolapkin 13.Ludvig Lindgren, Matej Kus, Emil Saifutdinov , Simon Lambert 18.Simon Lambert, Simon Gustafsson , Adam Vandirek, Igor Kononow Czech website Speedway A-Z have the same score as Speedway.org and Inspeed.de forum also has the same result except the likely tactical substitution of Woffinden for Lambert in heat 18. With heat 12 & 13 listed as on the Czech site... 12: Thomas H Jonasson, Hynek Stichauer, Alexander Kosolapkin, William Lawson 13: Matej Kus, Emil Sajfutdinov, Ludvig Lindgren, Simon Lambert ...Great Britain would have been 7 points behind the leader Czech Republic going into heat 18, thereby making a tactical substitution possible: 18. Simon Lambert Tai Woffinden, Simon Gustafsson, Adam Vandirek, Igor Kononov Would seem more logical for Woffinden to win his fourth rather for Lambert to suddenly win a heat. (No offence!) This would make the final result: 1. Sweden 41 2. Czech Republic 38 3. Great Britain 36 4. Russia 35 I would like to trust the Czech site, the meeting was held in Czech Republic after all. Did any forum member actually go to this meeting and can confirm the result?
Niclas
CONGRATS YOUNG SWEDEN:) Denmark in september Here We come! It seems like Sweden has delicate problem to make before the final. Today, Ricky and Simon had a bad night, will the swedish coach replace them with Kim N and Linus E, who actually qualified for the seminfinal in the junior World Championship. It looks good for the future of Swedish speedway

Anders
Yes, that would make sense, but would leave one wondering why the Russians didn't use Artiom Laguta and Emil Sajfutdinov as a tactical substitutes at some stage? If my calculations are correct, the Russians only were down by 6 points at one time as they trailed leaders Czech Republic by 6 points after 8 heats. In heats 9 & 10 they already had Sajfutdinov and Laguta who scored two points each, and then Russia weren't down by 6 points again until after the final heat.
