AndyM
Just got back home. Congratulations to Troy Batchelor on a very professional performance, though it was one hell of an epic battle in heat 19. Tai had to come through past Holder not once but twice, but was neck-and-neck with Batchelor from the last bend through to the line, only to see Troy just pull ahead by a nose at the finish. Race of the season down here and worth the entrance on its own! Â And just to repeat for SS's benefit - Tai beat Chris Holder from the back! Â As for the rest: Â Risager lost out to Holder for 3rd place but didn't really look too inspired Eklof rode a fine race to beat Holder first time out but never did anything else Bridger left it very late, 2 points at the interval but then won his two races to qualify in the second half, including a victory over Tai Auty and Proctor had a couple of tasty rides from reserve Zengota and Lindgren weren't too bad, both doing better than Gustaffson - maybe worth a shot for a PL place? Â And spare a thought for Kim Nilsson of Sweden. His match lasted less than 100 yards, by which time he fell and brought down Bridger and Lawson. He was carted off in the ambulance and never reappeared, poor lad. Edited June 15, 2008 by AndyM

AndyM
not bein funny guys but its not power you need round rye! its a flat engine because ive seen more dirt on the M25 on the way there! Plenty of passing when the track was damp. The problem is that speedway is far better in the evening; for afternoon meetings like this, as soon as riders got out near the fence the dust billowed up like a sand storm, no matter how much watering there was between races. If there had been any more dirt down, it would have been impossible for anyone to see the action. As it was, my nice clean car ended with a fine mist of red dust coating its silver exterior!! starsupportersam
Forget Cardiff this is the one to go to, Rye House, 15th June, at 2 pm, 16 man line up, all raw talent and desparate to get to the final .............. sounds good to me, I'm there! You said all this Trees yet i didnt see you there  Great meeting, very pleased Troy got the win. I was very impressed with Zengota, and Ricky Wells, who is still only 16, and will be a great rider for the future.
PhilK
Just got back from what was a very entertaining meeting. Well done to all that qualified, especially Tai who showed once again that he can mix it with the bigger boys! Â Totally agree Searley, a very good afternoons entertainment. Also well done to Len Silver, Rye take alot of hits on here but fair play the bloke put on an excellent show and deserved the good crowd that turned out. The stadium looked in fine order when we arrived and was a credit to Len. Â All the expected riders went well , down the order Ricky Wells impressed and could certainly do a decent job at PL level (hopes Mildenhall might sign him ). BobC
Bridger left it very late, 2 points at the interval but then won his two races to qualify in the second half, including a victory over Tai  Nice one.....Courtesy of the 'Tai Woffinden team riding service'  He wouldnt have done it otherwise.Wuffy even had time to wave at Bridger to get a move on! Quite comical really.  As has been said, superb ht19.Worth buying the dvd for that alone.  Congratulations to Len Silver and his team.Thought the stadium looked the ibest ts been for years. Most impressed.  A very, very enjoyable day out.Good company, good food(and beer!),and an excellent speedway meeting.
colincooke
Just got back from what was a very entertaining meeting. Well done to all that qualified, especially Tai who showed once again that he can mix it with the bigger boys! Quite agree Rob, conditions we're understandably dry but you can do no more than water after every race which is exactly what was done. Well done to all the young lads for putting o a good show, & 1 not so young man named Mr Silver. Good to see all our boys make the final & Tai in particular who just grows & grows, Will did what he needed to before Heat 19 which i'm sure was his plan as that as that was a corker & anyone could have ended up with 0. Bridger made it hard for himself but got here with a bit of help form Tai. Of the rest any EL promoter looking to make changes would only have seen Zengota pull up any trees this afternoon but there was plenty of interest in there for PL promoters, a pity Ricky Wells didn't come through as he was the tidiest rider on track. rabbit
Cracking meeting today in front of a decent sized crowd. Some entertaining clashes - as others have said Heat 19 was one of the best you'll see, and was very impressed with the efforts of Zengota and Wells, as well as William Lawson. Good to see the saltire on his race jacket alongside the lion and the appropriate flag given to him on parade. Nice touch. Â Of the top three, don't think anyone will have any complaints on the result - all put in determined and professional displays - Tai even assisting Bridger to a much needed win, waving him onwards at one point, and then saying when interviewed how he knew he himself was through, wasn't going to chase him down as it was another Brit through - such is the confidence of this kid! I'd have loved to seen him top the podium today but Troy deserved it with a slick performance and Tai's time will certainly come. Â Big well done to Uncle Len & co for a great afternoon's entertainment. Very impressed with the stadium and set-up, so much changed since my last visit and given the chance I'll come back again. The track rode well - plenty of lines and some good moves by those who dared. My only gripe being the bunch of abandoned sprogs on the sand in front of the stand who squealed, grizzled and generally annoyed through the meeting. Still, I'm sure their parents had a lovely peaceful afternoon. Finally, good to see some forum members there this arvo - LW, WvH, KevH, Jo, B4E, Shadders, PhilK, BrendanFan to name a few and thanks to BobC, Piratewoman, Ferndown Racer for the chat and company through the day. Hackett
Decent meeting and good to see the Brits all through .... Â Woffinden was top drawer and looked very quick on is home track. Lawson did enough to get through and that would of been his goal. Lacked a little as the meeting went on. Bridger through by the skin of his teeth, 2 (3) at one stage and was very much sh++ or bust and was rewarded by two wins !!! It just about qualifying and the Eagle has done that so excellent day for the Brits. Â Holder not rate Hoddeson as his favourite track in the world buy he made 3rd place and the final so job done. Batchelor was excellent and continued his good U21 form and deserved first place after his brilliant ht 19victory. Â Holder, Batchelor and Woffinden in what was in my opinion race of the season so far ... Batchelor in front Holder gunning down the inside and Woffinden winding it on around the outside in the dirt ... superb heat !! If you get a chance see this heat !!! Trees
You said all this Trees yet i didnt see you there No you didn't much to my annoyance at myself more than anything or anyone else, had a family christening to go to with the "do" being held at our village hall (I've been on the committee of the village hall since 1996 btw), I messed up with who was to do the bar and ended up having to do it myself, had to put it before speedway on this occasion, well peed off but there ya go, speedway can't come first always  Was the meeting videod??  Congratulations to Troy on winning the meeting with a faultless max, Lewis, Tai, Will and Chris on qualifying for the final! superguest
A very long and dusty day! Â Was awesome to see Holder, Batch and Wuffy go for it like they did, fantastic race. Â I was pleased with the result as Luddie and Will got through, thought the crazy Pole (number 10?) deserved to go through more than Bridger though but hey ho. Â Well done Troy, faultless performance. Edited June 15, 2008 by superguest
BossMan
Cracking meeting today and well done to all riders – hope Kim Nilsson is ok.  Hated it when the track was over – watered, bikes were spinning and races were strung out with the obvious slower times. (Len must have thought the Rockets were racing lol )  The stadium looked very impressive but we have to ask why it’s not like that for every meeting?
