youngy105
Belle Vue have been handed a major £1,000 boost for their annual Greggs North West Junior Championship on Wednesday, July 16. The event, which showcases young Conference League and Academy stars, will be backed for the fourth successive year by the North West division of Greggs the bakers, long-time sponsors of the Colts. This year there will be an extra prize fund of £1,000 available thanks to additional backing from Aces sponsors ATP, The Advance Travel Partner, who specialise in business, group, and leisure travel, including packages to Grand Prix meetings. The company, who have offices in Manchester, were recently involved in providing financial backing to help the return of Jason Crump to Belle Vue on a full transfer, and now they are showing their commitment to the sport at grass roots level. The backing will make the 2008 Junior championship the richest put on by Colts bosses Stephen Williams and Graham Goodwin who said: "It's widely known that 2008 marks the 80th birthday of the Aces but it is also the 40th anniversary of the Colts. "The Colts staged the first meeting of the new Second Division when they beat Canterbury on May 8, 1968. "With the backing of Greggs we've had some fantastic meetings. With a swelled prize fund it can only get better". Belle Vue are planning to include a couple of young Polish riders in the field for the first time but, with the additional money on offer, there's likely to be a lot of interest from young British riders." News on riders when they have been confirmed.

youngy105
Admission for this meeting is £8 for adults, £5 concessions and free for the kids. Always provides some cracking racing and at £8 for 20 heats of speedway you can't grumble at that.
Wendy
Admission for this meeting is £8 for adults, £5 concessions and free for the kids. Always provides some cracking racing and at £8 for 20 heats of speedway you can't grumble at that. Belle Vue press release says "Normal admission prices have been halved for the event, which has gained a reputation for a high quality of racing and entertainment in recent years. Adult admission will be just £8, with concessions priced at £5, and children over 12 years of age at £3. Children under the age of 12 will be admitted free" Not quite "free for kids" but still looks great value!

BTL
QUOTE (Rob B @ Jul 3 2008, 12:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't know about that but Peter Juul Larsen rides for Tarnow, been brought over part of the Belle Vue-Tarnow partnership. It's been suggested elsewhere that Peter Juul Larsen is the first signing by Glasgow for 2009 - all will be revealed later. With Gordon being a promoter at both the Aces and Glasgow it's not surprising. Belle Vue Colts
All supporters aged under 16 attending this meeting will have a chance to enter a draw at the turnstiles for the chance to adopt a rider for the night and win a trophy. The names of 16 young supporters who enter the draw will be picked out before heat 1 and each will be allocated to one rider. Those drawn against the 3 rostrum finishers will be invited onto the centre green at the end for the presentations and will receive a trophy on the rostrum. Also all kids under 12 will be admitted to the meeting Free of Charge (bring as many as you want!). All other admission prices are halved. Adults - £8; Concessions - £5; Children over 12 - £3 A full 20 heats for £8 make it one of the best value for money meetings in the country. In the past, this meeting has been considered to provide some of the best racing of the season. We hope to have put together a very even and competitive field again. The winner will also receive the first ever Allan Morrey Memorial Trophy in honour of the former clerk of the course who died in December after 61 years working at Belle Vue. Tarnow's Dane Peter Juul Larsen will be in competitive action for the first time in the UK. Full line up:- Ben Taylor Ben Hopwood Adam Wrathall Scott Richardson Gareth Isherwood Peter Juul Larsen Greg Blair Byron Bekker Adam McKinna Daniel Halsey John Branney Aaron Summers Jade Mudgeway Gary Irving Paul Stark Scott Meakins
