Cheekee Raylee Monkee
As a Rye supporter I am very disapointed that Tai won't be there but it seems to me that speedway once again shoots itself in the foot for two reasons. 1. The hottest property in British speedway isn't riding and for what reason? Tai Woffindens presence at this meeting was being looked forward to by most supporters I would think. To not have him riding will cost the BSPA a good deal of supporters. 2. Not to have Kings Lynn represented when they would clearly be one of the favourites is ridiculous. I'm sure it will be a good meeting because of the great venue but it would have been a hell of a lot better with Woffinden / KL pairing included. God help me but I agree with you. I notice that all the advertising has Tai's photo on it..........
bolly
Dear Mr Chapman You may have noticed that the 'Rye House Rockets' have encountered a few small problems. ie Two of our heat leaders have received recent injuries and are not available to ride on Friday at the 'PL Pairs'. I have been informed that you may have two riders who are not doing anything on this evening. So I thought maybe that Mr Doolan and Mr Topinka may like to ride for us on that night. Regards Rye House
Trees
.... but dont the riders have to "sign in" on Friday whether they practice or not and presumably they cannot be released between practice and the GP itself to ride in another event. Good old IMG eh, can't possibly do the right thing by british speedway! And so many british speedway fans think they are the dogs b's hmph!! BossMan
Laughably, Tommy Allen All I know is that 12 of us are going to Cardiff on Friday ready for the GP, we were going to take in this meeting as well - with no Tai and no KL this is now not happening. Well done to those in charge- you have lost 12 spectators just from us. Edited June 22, 2008 by BossMan
Matousek
Must admit it is a bit of a farce. No doolan and topinka, but allen and neath.

CIDER
Although I don't agree with the qualifying procedure I would not miss this for the world as everybody who went last year would agree that the pairs at Somerset is some of the best racing you will see. As for the Rye House "jump on the band wagon when you are winning" supporters who are not going because Tai is not riding I am sure your other riders would appreciate your support !! penchev
Birmingham would drop out assuming they were granted a 3 point 'win' for the three 'missing' meetings (as opposed to a 2nd and 3rd place) with Stoke and Edinburgh then both qualifying. Kings Lynn still wouldn't make it and IoW would still be bottom:- Reading 35 Workington 34 Newcastle 33 Rye Hse 30 Sheffield 30 Somerset 30 Redcar 27 Stoke 26 Edinburgh 26 Berwick 25 Newport 25 King's Lynn 24 Glasgow 23 Mildenhall 23 Scunthorpe 23 Birmingham 22 IoW 17 So how the hell did isle of wight get in then? finishing bottom! just goes to show our sport is ran by idiots! If your face fits then you get in! Or is it just a rule that if you win you automaticaly qualify the following year! Wild card my arse! It should be based on if you qualify for the next season, because from what i saw last week bunyan was pants tbh. An average of 6.45 shows that hes not having as good a season this year, and hes still at number 1! Edited June 23, 2008 by Matousek
Paulco
Looking foward to this meeting as a neutral.Should be a cracker Yes me too . Disappointed , though not surprised , that Glasgow aren't in it . But it means i can just sit back and enjoy the racing without the emotional aspect . Nermark and Neiminen are my idea of the winners .

CIDER
Warning to everybody who is coming to Somerset on Friday- It is Glastonbury rock festival this weekend the Motorway will be worse than normal, if people want to come early there is good cheap eating places in Burnham (go straight over the roundabout as you leave the motorway for about 1 1\2 miles) The Rosewood pub (next to Tesco) - Hungry Horse chain The Dunstan House pub - bit more up-market (not cheap) In the High Street- The Railway Pub - Good value food and chat with the Landlord (Danny) about speedway who sponsors a couple of the Somerset riders. Lots of cafes + fish and chips just off the sea front. Also Ritchie’s Cider Farm is worth a visit (only 3 miles from the track)
bolly
Whoever rides for Rye House they will not be short of support. Along with anybody else going from Rye, there will be 40/50 of us on the SSA coach stopping in Somerset on our way to seeing Eddie Kennet win and hopefully if recovered Tai get a couple of race wins at the Grand Prix. Ever the optimist The only real question of the weekend is Tommy's bike strong enough to tow Chris around with him and give him the slipstream to win each race. Just like he does with Tai everyweek at Rye. More pills please doctor
