Midland Robin
'And just maybe he has bigger sponsors than Mads.Something that someone like Olsen would surely take into consideration.' You're surely not suggesting that the Kroner has more clout than form and ability, are you? Edited May 26, 2008 by Midland Robin
Nazza
If I was Mads I'd tell him to shove it up his @rse! And then tell him to get a British passport?
aj.
If I was Mads I'd tell him to shove it up his @rse! thought you'd already said it was olsens fault after stekkers aprooved him-so why would he tell stekkers to shove it
Subedei
wonder if Piotr Swiderski will get a wildcard spot for a GP in Poland this season as hes having even a better season than Mads I very much doubt it, but you never know. But Olsen will have less say over that one, since that one's decided by the PZM.

iris123
You're surely not suggesting that the Kroner has more clout than form and ability, are you? We live in a world where money talks. What i am suggesting is if there are two riders of fairly equal ability, then other factors may and probably will be taken into consideration. That is what wildcards are about. Why did Robert Barth get a wildcard for the Czech GP a few years ago?Your not going to tell me it was because of his form on a speedway track are you? Subedei
Your not going to tell me it was because of his form on a speedway track are you? That was in the hope of getting some of the thousands of drunken Germans that descend on Prague each weekend to traipse along to the GP, wasn't it? Be surprised if it worked, to be honest. Every time I've been in Prague I've ended a Saturday evening showing a group of them to u Flecku. Edited May 26, 2008 by Subedei

Well yes,it was a commercial decision. It was stated in the German press early on that if enough Germans bought tickets for the GP then there would be a good chance of a german wc.So i guess it did work
Ghostwalker
C'mon now since when is the Br.EL 100% decisive when it comes to Wild Cards? Bjerre has ridden better then Mk in Sweden so i would think that Ole think sthat KB's performancees in sweden outranks Mads performances in BEL and to be honest i do too. Also im with Danisguest about Bjerre is a better rider then mads. Edited May 26, 2008 by Ghostwalker
Wackie
I don't think the argument should be about who's the better rider. The point is that the Danish Team Manager did nominated Mads as the wild card for the Danish Grand Prix which was over ruled by Olsen - that's what's out of order. I can't imagine Steachman is too happy about the situation either.
sancho
Why isn't there a standard way of choosing a wild card
Bobbin' Along
So what clout does Jan Staechmann have if he's overruled by the neutral race director of the GP series? Midland Robin
Hey MR - I've got a problem with the word "neutral" in that sentence.... Likewise 'bobbin'. By my way of thinking Bjerre would never have had this op unless he knew in advance he was going to get the wildcard. That says the decision was made way earlier than Monday. LisaColette
i now just hope Mads bouces back, keeps racking in the points, and makes olsen look at him and say opppps! thats the only thing he can do. i've heard he is distraught about the decision, which is understandable. not sure if he's in the gp qualifers, but if he is i hope that he qualifies for the gp's next year.
