Scunny Stag
To clarify, Sittingbourne were third due to a faster heat winning time than Scunthorpe (there being not enough time for the 3rd. place race-off). Massive well done to Deano & Jerran!!! :approve: My understanding is that third place was awarded on the toss of a coin. With the emphasis in a Pairs meetings on not finishing last it would seem quite cock-eyed to decide it on heat times.
BobC
To clarify, Sittingbourne were third due to a faster heat winning time than Scunthorpe (there being not enough time for the 3rd. place race-off). Massive well done to Deano & Jerran!!! :approve: Unless Stressed can confirm different,Im sure he announced that wasnt the case. On countback, both teams were equal. The only difference was a faster heat winning time for Jerran. On double checking the rules,it had to be decided on the toss of a coin.At least that was our understanding on the back straight. That said,I was well pleased for Jerran,as he always rides well at Weymouth.Very unlucky in the semi final.Cockle shoved him very hard into the boards coming out of the 2nd turn.If Jerran had fallen,Cockle would have been excluded. When Congratulating him and his Dad Steve afterwards, they did confirm that Cockle had appologised to them for his actions. First time Ive seen Aaron Summers race. Its obvious why most folk are raving about him.Superb effort that deserved to win it for Redcar.Well impressed.Well done to Boston,as they both came from the back to win it.I believe Lambert blew an engine big time in ht2. Best wishes to Jon Armstrong who took a very nasty fall.I hope it was more of a precautionary Ambulance trip. His influence to the Weymouth team cannot be over exaggerated. Also good to see Rob and the Oxford mob, even if they tried to sell me raffle tickets, again.Do you guys ever give up? Overall,a very good advert for Conference League Speedway. Wessex Wanderer
Totally agree with BobC about Aaron Summers - for a first time visitor to Weymouth he was very impressive indeed. Also good to see James Cockle riding so well again. Does Simon Lambert ever have any luck other than the bad variety? Jerran Hart good as always. Good display from the young Plymouth pairing (although I still feel that at least one of their heat leaders should have taken part in a prestige meeting - and I don't care what the early season averages are). Good meeting despite the unavoidable delays. Some terrific racing. Congratulations Boston.
jules m
Fantastic meeting with some great racing and overtaking. One thing that I don't understand is whats the point of having reserves if their points don't count? Surely it would be better for the fans that have paid to come and watch racing that the points do count as if your team suffers an injury in their first race thats your lot. I am sure there is a reason for this but I am just not aware of it can anyone shed some light? Jules

OK if he blocks the 2 riders behind - but a bl**dy nuisance if he blocks the rider he's suppoed to ride with. And as for the points counting for nothing ... well you can tell the rules were man-made (grins and ducks)

And as for the points counting for nothing ... well you can tell the rules were man-made (grins and ducks) Why do the teams competing in the event not have their own reserve then all the teams would still be in with a chance and if the reserve cannot ride for any reason then only one rider from that team will compete. Sounds probably daft to some but to me more fair then everyone has the same chance. OK I am waitig for the reasons why it would not be viable...
