stevebrum
Seems Nicki has criticized the track and Ole has answered the critics Need someone to translate though good old nicki. would have been different if he would have won. He would have said sommat on the lines of `its the same for all the guys you know`
Subedei
Pedersen didn't hold back when asked what should happen to Olsen for producing tracks like that did he. Didn't Nicki P criticise the track at Cardiff last year?

BigFatDave
sounds like the track was terrible, such a great advert for speedway. - thought that was the reason gp speedway left ullevi anyway? after the shambles of 2004 season? What shambles in 2004 are you on about, chris? Reason I ask is because I was there for the GP, I think .
barrow boy
The difference between Rune and Scott is that Rune has not had to rely on the generosity of the authorities to get a GP spot in the past but has got in by qualifying. As regards why it has took Rune so long to win one, I think that is a bit of a surprise. He has been one of the top performers in the Polish and Swedish leagues for years and has put in plenty of good rides in the GP's. Time after time he seemed to cock up at either the gate or by over riding in Semi's, but last season was a bit of a break through when he reached the podium a couple of times and rode his socks off to overcome a poor start to the series and finish in the top 8. Hope he can qualify by right again this year, because with the political rubbish that goes along with the nominations I fear a less worthy rider might get a spot at his expense. For example this ridiculous notion that the Brits must have 2 riders in the series. How about being guaranteed a place in the following year's series if you win at least one GP? salty
How about being guaranteed a place in the following year's series if you win at least one GP? Not the worst idea I've ever heard - and I'm sure Mr Holta would agree. It would keep interest going to the last GP as even someone rooted in 15th place could pull off a shock and qualify for next year. Better than this Super Prix nonsense. Best remembered (by me anyhow! ) for Hans Andersen's Fairytale Win and Crumpie kicking the @#$% out of a certain Dane down the main straight! Oh, and all that lovely Swedish Crumpet!! Subedei
No no no you cant have this it would make it a farce. More of a farce than having the former British champion nominated into the series for 2005, 2006 and 2007 in spite of failing to finish in the top eight in 2004, 2005 and 2006? barrow boy
No no no you cant have this it would make it a farce. If you are good enough to win a GP then the riders concerned deserve to be involved next time. Normally you would expect there to be just a few such instances and some will be those at the very top but every now and again a Rune Holta or a Chris will come along and break into the club. The remaining places will still go to the highest scoring non winners and heaven forbid those dreaded permanent wild cards.
barrow boy
On a personal note I wondered how the scoring would be if say only those riders who reached the semi finals scored points. i.e. both semi final winners 10, both semi final 2nds 8, both semi fimal 3rds 6 and both semi final 4ths 5. Final winner 15, final 2nd 10, final 3rd 8 and final 4th 6. Interestingly the points would then have been:- Holta 23 Lindgren 20 Pedersen 18 Crump 14 Adams 6 Andersen 6 Jonsson 5 Gollob
