You cannot be serious. How nit picking can you get

He is 17 years old, was talking to a guy he's probably known for years in Oz, and he makes a slip of the tongue only to get pounced on. FFS it's not as if Britain abounds with talent is it

I don't care if he's British, Australian, Chinese, Russian or blooming well Martian he is a pleasure to watch.

Careful SL! You will get a nosebleed that high up on a horse you know!

I agree that Tai is a pleasure to watch, but when racing under a national flag it would be nice to know what nationality he is riding under (although I don't think Tai really knows as yet)!

Speedway is a funny old sport, with Holta a Pole, we have had a Brit winning the New Zealand Championship, Brits riding in the Aussie Championships! What exactly is going on ?

He's young but hopefully it will be pointed out to him.

But if he wishes to be taken seriously and get the British support he will need to keep the Brits on-side and not refer to his fellow countrymen or flag in the third party.

Oh come on the guy has been living in Aussie for most of his life, of course it will take time for him to get used to recognising the nation of his birth, he has nailed his colours to Britain, and lets be grateful that such a talented guy has chosen us over the Aussies.

What is it with this country that we feel that we have to bring people down a peg or two, for godsake leave the lad alone, this country needs the likes of Tai, and to be honest given the choice Tai or Lewis Bridger, I know which one I would choose.

Or maybe the clue is in the fact that he is Wolves asset.

I think the clue into the way Tai, think is the way his Father thinks, I remember an interview when Tai first came over when they interviewed his Dad Rob, when asked whether he felt like an Aussie, Rob said that if Aussie were facing a nation other than England then he supported the Aussies, but if it was England then he supported England.

Tai is strongly infleunced by Rob so I reckon the clues into what Tai will do in the future lie there.

People expect too much from Tai with regards this English thing. He has two countries and probably loves them both. He's chosen to ride as Britsh and we should be pleased instead of trying to spot any possible holes in hi patriotism. It doesn't mean he has to totally renounce the country where he spent most of his life.

After reading some of the posts on here I wouldn't blame Tai for changing his mind and riding for Aus :rolleyes:.

As for his comment about his starting!!, I actually hear worse than that when walking past the local primary school, so lets leave the lad alone to progress and do his chosen country proud, it's very rare that a talent such as this comes along and therefore shouldn't be pressured into rushing things like Nigel Pearson would seem to want from comments he made last night.

With Tai, Jo Haines, Josh Auty, Rob Mear, etc etc things for Britain are at last taking a turn for the better, let's give them our support not nit pick them for making mistakes when being interviewed.

Is there anyone going to this meeting who would be able to text updates to the updates site? If so, could you please either leave a message here or send me an email or pm.

Thanks

Stays okay!!!!

Im wondering whether to take the car or canoe tomorrow!!!!!

I think it's pretty safe to say that if the meeting was tonight it would be off by now, that said the weather forecast tomorrow is much better so if the predicted dry day emerges then it should be perfect conditions by tomorrow evening.

I'd imagine since he admitted that he sees Australia as his home and he was talking to another Aussie in Johno it didn't do him any harm :)

Good luck tomorrow Tai as the rider in the field who I would most like to get the Cardiff wildcard, however also hoping Simon Stead does himself proud :)

Edit: Forgot about the one Sheffield rider in the line-up.

5. Ricky Ashworth (Sheffield)

:D Come on Ricky!

As you can probs expect, it is gonna be very busy indeed, and blunsdon isnt that roomy tbh, on a normal elite league meeting the car park is usually prettty full, im probs gonna leave a tad earlier, be there just after 6 at latest, get a nice spot in the car park and on the first corner

Is it really going to be that busy?

I was planning on getting there at my usual time (ok, a bit before 7.29).
