Mine was the same, upto heat 9 was ok, but now a bit patchy! Missed the crash, am watching the football too, but finally someone has passed (Crump on Koshiecha).

Last week was much the same but its repeated in the week if need be.

Also try http://www.itvp.pl/event/zuzel/?tab=16 it will show the matches and results etc

Karl

Help, please. Where do I go once I get onto the link and how do I find the Speedway?

Thanks schumi. Got it! Now it's rained off! ;)

And Leszno not awfully happy about that. They're claiming that the real reason it's been called off is because Messrs Pedersen, Hancock and Richardson would've been missing for Czestochowa. They seem to be asking for the authorities in Poland to investigate:

That's strange, where are they? As far as I know, there were no meetings in Sweden or Russia tonight. Only Richardson rides in the UK, but his team Eastbourne haven't had a match all week.

All on holiday?

All counting their earnings for the season?

I just asked that. But Nicki thought he was riding, according to his website.

This seems to be the Czestochowa version of events, from their chairman Marian Maslanka (isn't that a bit of a "girlie" name for Tai Woffinden's Polish employer?):

A (very) rough translation appears to be that the Czestochowa track was in a sorry state yesterday and with a poor forecast for today Czestochowa told their three foreign riders not to bother. However, the weather wasn't so bad today, so Czestochowa tried to arrange private aircraft to get them to the track, but in the meantime the referee had ruled the track as being unacceptable and postponed the meeting.

It seems that Leszno are going to write to the Ekstraliga authorities asking for a "walkover" victory to be declared - they turned up at Czestochowa with a full compliment of riders today.

Perhaps they should have brought in some guests and see a speedway meeting....we did and i saw 2......how many did you see on the tinternet

What difference would that have made when the referee ruled the track unfit?

If the referee had ruled the track unfit at Ipswich tonight would your guests have salvaged the situation?

And, to be honest, I'd rather have an honest and credible comptition than the fiasco that is the Elite League.

Polish League....Honest and credible......Love it :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

It's a million times more honest and a billion times more credible than the Elite League. But you just carry on living in your parochial little Englander world watching the sport die in the UK because of the gross negligence and stupidity of the authorities.

And that's one of the main differences between our leagues; when you're on the stadium (or watching via internet, tv or whatever) and there's meeting beetwen Czestochowa and Leszno, then you get exactly CZESTOCHOWA and LESZNO teams on the track. Not Czestochowa + some-other-guys. You know who you support, the Team is not only a bunch of guys gathered a few minutes ago (and riding for some other teams a few minutes later). You saw 2 meetings - well, we care about quality, not guantity. Generally speaking league meetings in Poland are not often than once a week - how often do you have it in England, and who is more impatient, whose appetite for speedway is greatest ?

Don't take it personally, there's just enough stupid golden-double-super-duper-tactic-reserves and other regulations in Poland, taken from England to make speedway look more like colorful country circus than breathtaking no-gears, no-brakes motorsport. You haven't seen world class British rider since Mark Loram, we've had problems with that for ages even without messing with regulations every year :P And dark ages are coming back as Tomek is not getting younger.

On the other side what happend in Czestochowa seems to be another example of our domestic speedway-wars, but where's too much money, there's too much pressure.

EDIT: There was a training this afternoon in Czestochowa, and it ended with broken rib and blade-bone for Gapinski, what is now a proof for Czestochowa that track is still (as it wasn't yesterday) not ready for serious riding.

Big money. Pasted from today's article in one local newspapers:

2008 pays:

* Nicki Pedersen - 2 200 000 zl (£ 536 585)

* Tomasz Gollob - 1 800 000 zl (£ 439 024)

* Jason Crump - 1 500 000 zl (£ 365 853)

* Greg Hancock - 1 200 000 zl (£ 292 682)

* Andreas Jonsson - 800 000 zl (£ 195 121)

* Torun riders - 3 000 zl per point (£ 731 per point)

The minimum budget of an Ekstraliga club for 2009 is estimated around 6 000 000 zl (~ £ 1 500 000) but the best ones may spend well over 8 000 000 zl :blink:

We are the Premiership of speedway.
