Guest Sir Lunchalot
Nice coolish day for the SSRAV club championships and it was a very happy Jake Anderson that took out the senior solo championship. I was really pleased to see Jake take out the meeting, he is one who has steadily improved ever since juniors rather than bursting on the senior scene straight from day one and the title couldn't have gone to a nicer bloke. Jake is riding with his head and is sneaky quick and as a result is coming in under the radar of a few people I think. Good field of eleven for the senior solos which was swelled by three visitors from Mildura, namely Ryan Sedgmen, Justin Sedgmen and Jason Stewart. The Sedgmen duo didn't have the best day with Justin having some mechanical gremlins in his first ride followed by Ryan's bike giving up the ghost in his first outing and the two brothers bike sharing after that. Justin bounced back with three wins on the trot and looked fast and smooth. Ryan also fought back with a good win but had to sit out one heat because of not having a working bike. Jason Stewart had a mechanical glitch in one heat too so it wasn't the happiest of visits for the Mildura trio. Dakota North was impressive in causing Jake Anderson his only dropped point and also doing well to keep Jason Stewart behind him in an earlier heat. The field was reduced by one when at the time of unloading one young gentlemans trailer the check list would have gone something like bike - check, helmet - check, boots - check, kevlars ... kevlars ... dad where are my kevlars ? I hope he enjoyed watching the meeting !! The results in riding order Beau Evans 1,1,2,2 = 6 Jake Anderson 3,2,3,3 = 11 Justin Sedgmen 0,3,3,3 = 9 Jackson Milne 2,2,1,1 = 6 Jason Stewart 2,3,1,3 = 9 Dakota North 3,3,2,2 = 10 Ryan Sedgmen 0, 1,3,- = 4 Mitch Kerrins 2,0,0,1 = 3 Bob Stoneham 0,0,0,0 = 0 Matt Jones 3,2,2,2 = 9 Mitch Goodwin 1,1,1,0 = 3 For the record the other winners were 2 valve solo - Tony Nagel Evolution Solo - Adam Bond (maximum) Over 30 Solo - Mick Evans 250 Sidecar - Noel Gawne / Craig Fordham Senior Sidecar - Simon Hartley / Peter Taylor Vintage Sidecar - Dave Cottrell / Jamie Walker There were also a 350 solo class that was very entertaining. Brenton Barnfield and Josh Munro shared the wins two apiece and just because there were only two in the heat didn't mean there wasn't some very good racing. Hard luck story of the day was one 250 sidecar team that was put back in the final results because their paperwork wasn't in order. Don't you just hate that ? I can just imagine it, Gavin Sedge would have been busier than a one legged man in a ass kicking competition. Guest Sir Lunchalot
Hey Lunchy is there any more meetings for Broadford coming up I am itching to get over there! Two more to finish off the season Spider, 12th April and 10th May. Both ordinary club days so I wouldn't expect a solo field like that again. Numbers can drop off a little after the club championships are done and dusted but if you want to wander across you will be made most welcome. Usually a couple of Vincents on display in the Vintage sidecar class so no need to bring your Viagra pills that day if you come over . You never know, you might even find a few folk willing to talk your funny three wheeled language with you. Chopper, I'm not sure about Dakota's movements, if he is at Broadford next meeting I will ask him (unless he answers it himself, he is a member on here).
