iris123
The season opener in Germany with this new competition from the UEM.Line-up fom the Bundesliga site Denmark 1. Patrick Hougaard 2. Klaus Jakobsen 3. Peter Juul Larsen 4. Patrick Nørgaard 17. Simon Nielsen TM: Jan Stæchmann Croatia 5. Nikola Martinec 6. Renato Cvetko 7. Nikola Pigac 8. Andrej Kežman 18. Jurica Pavlic Germany 9. Kevin Wölbert 10. Max Dilger 11. Erik Pudel 12. Frank Facher 19. Sönke Petersen France 13. Theo di Palma 14. Maxime Mazeau 15. Benoit Lorenzon 16. n/a 20. n/a France haven't named their team as of yet.If and when they do i don't imagine they will trouble the leaders.Could be a good battle between the other teams.Denmark a bit weakened by the retirement of Jonas Raun could possibly be pipped by Germany.Nørgaard is maybe a weak link and Simon Nielsen whilst having potential might still be a bit inexperienced, although he won the junior event at the first meeting in Güstrow last year.Croatia have potentially the meetings top scorer in Pavlic. How much back up he will get from the others maybe Tomaz can tell us.But he did say Croatias "other" big talent,Dino Kovacic is too young for this competition, sadly Edit: Allerdings schwebt über der Besetzung des französischen Teams noch ein Fragezeichen. But if they can't put out a full team, the places will be filled with German riders and the meeting will go ahead as planned.Obviously only the other 3 teams will be properly in the competition.Found 3 names for the French team on a Russian site!!! tomazpozrl
Croatia have potentially the meetings top scorer in Pavlic. How much back up he will get from the others maybe Tomaz can tell us.But he did say Croatias "other" big talent,Dino Kovacic is too young for this competition, sadly Pavlic should get a good back up from Martinec, but other riders might struggle. Pigac is a talent, but he needs more track time, Cvetko has been around for a while, but hasn't done anything special yet, and Kezman is the most inexperienced of them who will be lucky to score. iris123
Just seen that vandals have caused €5,000 worth of damage to the stadium.Just mindlessly thrown drawers and speedway cups all over the place.Even thrown flowers on the floor and smashed the vase. All the doors in the stadium have been broken and the tractor damaged But the meeting is still on and the track is in good condition.Lets hope the weather stays fine for the club, who have suffered a few set-backs in the last few years with the weather Güstrow vandalism

Wasn't a great meeting, but there were a few good heats. As predicted Jurica Pavlic was the rider of the meeting.Featured in a great heat with Klaus Jakobsen and Sönke Petersen. As it seemed in every heat Jakobsen made a great start, but Jurica and Sönke were right behind him all the way.Never much between them but Jurica eventually passed Klaus on the last lap. That was the only time he was really troubled. The big meet with Kevin Wölbert and Patrick Hougaard was a bit of a let down.Jurica made a great gate and was never troubled, but then neither was Kevin in second place.Think the heat was the fastest of the afternoon as well.Another great heat from Erik Pudel who was outgated by Jakobsen but stalked him for 3 laps before taking him.Unfortunately it was just as i thought though.Jurica had little support.Maxime mazeau had a few good battles with the Croatians.Heat 10 especially a good race at the back with Pigac, which the announcer greeted with "Who said the French can't ride speedway?".The meeting was won and lost on Peter Juul's two e.f's at the gate.It was always hard for the Danes to stay in,even with Patrick Hougaard getting a tactical ride.Germany dropped two points when Frank Fachers bike packed up while in easy second place. Good to see two World Champs in attendance.Egon Müller and Erik Gundersen,in his official capacity as Junior Trainer Att: 678(paying,although i think they said 800 in all) photos Edited March 24, 2008 by iris123
