McKINLAY, MITCHELL IMPRESS AT BIBRA LAKE

By Ken Brown

Solo rider Keith McKinlay and Sidecar combo of Russell Mitchell/Justin Winchester dominated the proceedings at the Bibra Lake Speedway on August 24.

McKinlay tuned up for the WA Championship the following fortnight (September 7) by sweeping the Solo division, while Mitchell and Winchester celebrated their return from England with three wins and a second placing in the Sidecars.

Gavin Lewis was the best to begin in the opening Solo heat with McKinlay racing past and winning the event comfortably.

Lewis held onto second spot over Shannon Wearne and Jayson Ketteringham.

Heat 2 saw McKinlay charge straight into the lead from the number 5starting berth and lead home Wearne, Ketteringham and Nigel Roberts. Wearne gated best in the third heat only to have McKinlay fly straight around the outside through the first turn.
