NJT
With the first meeting just over two weeks away is there any idea of the line ups for these meetings?

Danzell
Heard a rumour that Scott Nicholls is now in this as they couldnt get a full lin-up. And before anyone says he cant enter because he's over 21, I already know this. lol. If we can have a Premier League team in the ELITE LEAGUE PAIRS competition why cant we stretch the rules and have someone over 21 in the UNDER 21's. Catch my drift? Main Man
Surprised to see Mark Baseby struggling in this. Hope he isnt injured, having only taken three rides. Spoke to Mark after the meeting and he was disappointed . In his first one he missed the gate and was clamped down by Dan Halsey when he went to pass him on the inside and almost went on the centre green. In his second he was chasing Lee Smart when he picked up too much drive and crashed hurting is ankle. He went out for his third ride although perhaps shouldn't have and the ankle hurt him too much. He then pulled out of the meeting.

Parsloes 1928 nearly
6 Barry Burchatt.............3,3,R,2,3 Heat 09: L Strudwick,Laurence,Chandler,Burchatt(Ret) 54.4 Burchatt retired while 2nd Bad luck to Mark; and especially to Barry, who it seems was denied a place in the Final only by a problem in his third ride (after winning both his opening two and then recording a third heat win of the night in his fifth..).. Barry recorded heat wins over the second placed, Dan Halsey and fourth-placed Gareth Isherwood - so he must certainly be regarded as very unlucky not to be going to Lakeside...!! Anyone know what occurred in heat nine..?? Also, a big well done to Gareth on that fourth place.. Strange that he'll be at Lakeside in the GB U-21 Championship Final but appears still to be without a club..??
BobC
Never a doubt about Smart winning this one.Halsey was steady, without really impressing.Lee Strudwick was a particular surprise, looking very quick and controlled.Gareth Isherwood rode very steadily, and stayed upright while those around him hit the self destruct button. Kyle Newman was the revelation on the night. After a fx in his first ride,in which I wasnt expecting him to score anyway,he stormed through his other races. Can count himself very unlucky in the Last Chance Final.Burchatt over cooked his entry into turn 3 and left a gap on the inside.Newman turned inside, and at the same time Burchatt tried to close the gap. They touched, with Burchatt falling.IMO,it was lack of experience, rather than anything nasty from Newman.Oddly,Burchatt did almost the same thing in the rerun, but this time falling on his own while 3rd. Main Man,get Baseby some superglue! It was unbelievable that he ended up without scoring a point. In ht2,he DID go onto the centre green, albeit being forced to,before bringing down Halsey.Ht8,he was giving Smart something to think about all race, when he lifted off the 2nd turn, and clattered the fence. He was hobbling around, his left ankle looking swollen. It was strange,as we had Baseby who was involved in some exciting action with Zero from 3 rides, yet Bates, who you wouldnt have known was there, was on 7pts.Im not knocking anyone, but it didnt seem fair or make sense. Parsloes,in ht9,Burchatt simply seemed to pull up,nothing obvious, with Strudwick well away. Re texters comments on ht17.Johnson fell on the 1st turn, trying to avoid MacPhail, but remounted.Got back up and chased the others.A case of one more lap,and he might have got points. Ive seen better meetings, but some lively action all the same.Congrats to Smart,Halsey and Strudwick for qualifying.
