Guest First Bend Bunching
I think what BSI are doing to try and enhance the sport on the world stage has to be commended. However there are two main issues. One over which we have no control whatsoever is the weather and in this respect perhaps only those tracks such as Cardiff, Parken and the Viking Stadium should be used in future. These have roofs on so the weather should be of no problem. The second and more serious issue is the actual track itself. This is a professional sport with professional riders who deserve a professional track to ride on. The people who prepare the tracks should have it right by now - if they cannot get it right give the job to someone who can. Looking back to Wembley in 1981 Len Silver prepared a great racing one-off track for a classic final. So much for progress, 22 years later and we still cannot get it right. Perhaps if we only have two or three arenas where a track has to be purpose built we have a sufficiently experienced crew who do the job at all the stadiums. Some of the one-offs I feel are too easily rutted up and become dangerous. I feel some of the better racing this year has been at the established tracks like Krsko and Avesta. By all means we should look to progress the future of speedway but do this by having a mix of the old and the new!
21st century heathen
:? So do you want new indoor stadiums, or do you want the old established tracks? Maybe I'm not reading your post properly, but I'm confussed. :?
