whowasthatberntpersson
Still no official word if and when this meeting will take place. Word has it that Gosford originally applied to stage this meeting however the last i heard was it could be going to Newcastle. Apparantly its in the hands of MA now which I hate to say could mean ...well anything could happen. This meeting is supposed to take place next month and the Gold Coast has already put in place another big 350 meeting scheduled for 29th March, which it is hoped will not clash with the Australian event if it does take place. There also seems to be some confusion over where the 350's can race, although some of the MA sanctioned events have been on large tracks (Sydney Showground, Mt Gambier, etc) so hopefully the kids can ride without the initial restrictions at many of the larger venues. BigFatDave
Officially set for March 22, wwtbp! Gosford's the venue, and so far about 14 riders in the frame including Alex Davies, Taylor Poole, Todd Kurtz, Tyson Nelson, Darcy Ward and Robert Branford - I guess that means we won't be seeing Chopper at Gillman for the Sidecars! chopper
G day BFD, sorry to say very unlikely we will get there, Robert has broken his arm on his motocross bike. Nice and peed i can tell you, we had flights booked for there and the gold coast a week later, but such is life. We discussed the problems with motocross,ie, a broken wrist, collarbone and now this, but in all honesty we can ride the crosser twice a week, practice every weekend, and race every weekend , if you desire so compared to speedway when you consider he hasnt had a chance to ride since the aussie under 21s, for a kid that lives to ride something , motocross wins hands down. whowasthatberntpersson
I'd say 14 is very optimistic indeed BFD. Not sure what is happening regarding nominations for the Gosford meeting, however I do know the Gold Coast have only mustered 7 for their big one on the 29th March, 4 from NSW and 3 Queenslanders. With Robert out that only leaves the Victorians, and there's only a couple of them and I'm not sure if they will travel (to the GC that is). Gold Coast lineup so far; Darcy Ward, Tyson Nelson Clinton Dennis Todd kurtz Mason Campton Alex Davies Taylor Poole I'll have a stab in the dark and say they'll be lucky to get 12 for Gosford, and they need that many to make it an official Aussie Title. People are saying there are currently 18 350 riders however some of them aren't old enough to race yet (including my young fella) and some of them won't travel. Trackman
I'm told that race times were faster than some 500 race time. ... Look out EU, the Aussie Kids are going to kick ya butt.... Regards. Edited March 26, 2008 by Trackman
iris123
I'm told that race times were faster than some 500 race time. ... Look out EU, the Aussie Kids are going to kick ya butt.... Regards. Anything can happen of course, but Denmark have a couple of great kids coming along for this year.Still hope this test match come off.But in the big scheme of things it doesn't really matter if the Oz kids don't finish on top. They will surely have a great time and learn a lot and make some good friends and rivals.Just look at Jurica Pavlic. He rode in the 80cc World Championship and didn't do terribly well. But he is probably the best rider from that tournament now on 500cc bikes.I am certainly looking forward to seeing the youngsters from Oz take on the rest
whowasthatberntpersson
350cc Clip from the Gold Coast on 29th and 30th March. Nick making his official debut, only doing demos until he's old enough to race in June
chopper
Looking good Nick, you look like a mighty mouse on that bike. I see Hiedi got his ugly mug on there. Practice, what is this , is it something that only happens in Qld. Cheers Chopper
