Early Season Fireworks

Hmm I see Mr Tomicek is in the line-up....may have to gather the troops and make my first trip to Birmingham.

Should think Howie will walk it though.

If David Howe hadnt got injured at Telford, then a top three place would be certain. Hes even said himself hes not comfortable walking so it may affect his confidence riding. One thing is certain i cant see andre compton retaining the trophy if he rides like the last time he rode the track.

Don't underestimate Lyons at the Barr. He won an individual last season that featured Roo and Billy.

He was flying in practice on Tuesday. I suspect he'll be okay once the adrenalin kicks in.

It's between these two for me. 3rd is where the question mark should be.

A couple of the riders said at the P&P that the track was quite soft underneath, even though it was dry and dusty on top.

A good soaking may mean the cancellation of the meeting especially as, as Kev says, they only have 3 hours to get any work done. Still, weather forecasts have been wrong before.

My top 3 though is.....

Lyons (now JRM mounted), Legault, Howe.

(Shawn McConnell) looked good in practice. I tell you what, if someone could find sponsorship to buy him European standard equipment he could ride in the PL this season.

Depends on who would have a 7-point hole to plug, as that would be his average coming into the PL.

He'll be on Ronny Corrie's bike for the AHM, so no lack of power there I suspect. Watch out for the Mad Dog!!!

Think you maybe expecting a little too much from Legault on his first actual competitve outing at Perry Barr. It's between Howe & Lyons for the title, Compton to come in third for me.

Shedded chains for the 'Mad Dog' then.

Think Hansen could be a dark horse for this one , he was riding very well for Wolves last season.

Yes, but was poor when he visited with Wolves at the end of last year.

Ully to win :D

Don't think he'll quite have the pace of Lyons or Howe, but a spoiler for sure.

Forecast for tomorrow for the west midlands from the met office:

"Outbreaks of rain should clear southwards during the morning, then it should be a mostly dry and bright day with some sunshine, though with a cool and fresh northeasterly wind. Maximum temperature 10 °C."

Should be okay, at least the meeting is at 6pm. Good luck with your run

Kenneth Hansen wont be riding as he has a contractual agreement in poland :( according to the wolves website. Not sure if there will be a replacement or whether jack roberts or adam lowe are in the team.

What an earth do they want with him? I'm unconvinced about Kenneth to be honest.
