superguest
this may sound a bit thick, but is Nick riding in the meeting himself?

Guest sjl
I'm definetly coming down for this now, so hope that all is ok weather wise. The last forecast I saw Colin was rain most of the morning but clearing later so all should be o.k hopefully especially as it has been mentioned how well the track copes with heavy rain. See you there (BTW what do you think the queue will be like -- cause for concern? )
Nikkif
Remember people, Sunday 1 I'm told the race jackets will be auctioned after the meeting too, so bring all your pounds (your pennies won't be enough ) plus there's a great range of merchandise. Correct SCB - race Jackets will be auctioned after the meeting - bring pounds, notes or cheques!

Vince
Which is? And why can't all tracks use the same if it would save a lot of rained off meetings? Edited to put the quote in. It's all Bryn's fault! It's not so much the material, the drainage is excellent which means that as long as it stops raining for a fairly short while you can get any standing water off the track and it will dry very quickly. The surface itself doesn't have so much clay in it and at this time of year they use less fines (dust) and more stone so that it doesn't turn to mush. Fine material will absorb and hold hold more water than coarse. Obviously the downside of such good drainage is trying to keep it moist in the warmer weather. Spoke to Tim earlier and he has been keeping an eye on the forecast and is confident the meeting will go ahead. He will let us know for certain later today so I will then post on here if somebody else hasn't already done so.
Vince
Nick and Tim have just got the latest forecast which is for rain overnight but blowing away by mid morning. The track is hammered in tight to allow the rain to run off and the meeting is 100% definitly going to run.
tricks
Hi all, thanks for all your support of my meeting so far. Can't believe that this time tomorrow that it will all be over! Just to confirm what Vince has said, the forecast is that the rain will pass by mid morning and the track will be in good condition. I've spoken to each rider and everyone of them is 100% up for it. This just leaves to to confirm that this meeting WILL be run tommorrow without doubt, so hope to see you all there.

tricks
Unfortunately Edward Kennett has had to withdraw from the meeting. The good news is that I've managed to replace him in the line up with Mads Korneliussen. See you all tomorrow, Nick.

But I'll answer anyway. Dont be so darn supid - this is Newport where they run in anything. The forecast is for clear skies later so, as long as the track copes then so will we. Just having a cup of tea before we head off into Wales. Really quite nervous now as we want to put on a brilliant show for Nick. And of course that can only happen if you guys come on down. Trust me - the weather will be fine!! Good Luck Nick - hope you have a marvoulous day - you are a smashing young man (with a wierd sense of humour - just ask the shop worker in tesco!!) but you deserve this day - you are a keeper. Lots of love Sandie, Nikki and Lora xxxx
