Does Ron still keep his pub in Great(or is it Little) Missenden?A great rider in my view-one of the linchpins of the great Oxford side of 1964-along with Arne Pander and the G-men. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I used to be a frequent visitor to Ron How's pub in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Also often popping in were riders like Danny Dunton, Roy Bowers, Stan and Jim Tebby, Ted Spittles, George Bason - and more. Happy memories. I also remember doing a photo feature on Ron - about his involvement with both the pub and the farm. The photographer was John Goldfinch (what happened to him?) who was a cousin of the late Gil Goldfinch. http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/oldtimespeedway

Genesis
Ron is still the landlord of The Red Lion in Little Missenden, Bucks. The pub is a listed building and almost burnt to the ground in 2006 I think it was. Thankfully Ron & family were all safe and it was rebuilt and reopened late last year. His son Trevor (who was a professional footballer at Watford FC) runs The Crown which is the other pub in the village.
