do you think so?

or was the fact that he wasnt going to get HIS own way thius season the reason why he resigned?

think about it

Sorry chief you are contradicting yourself.

Either JC made the PL Pairs qualifying criteria call on his own, or he is part of a comittee and has quit because he can't get his own way. Which is it to be?

Possibly Third Mann, and like everyone else, I can only guess at what has happened. Maybe it is something to do with not getting his own way, or maybe he's gone because this is the straw that has finally broken the back of one of the few modernisers in our sport. However much you may not like JC; and believe me I don't, he is a moderniser, and despite his ill judged comments from time to time, I think he genuinely has the future of the sport in mind. Maybe he is fed up of locking horns with Toogood, and Van Straaten and the rest of them.

I suspect that the BSPA has between them yet again made a complete and embarrassing mess of organising this whole thing. Maybe it was originally agreed that there would be 10 teams in the pairs, including a PL Wild Card to give the local fans some interest and then maybe this was changed by certain members of the Management Committe without JC being involved; maybe the Elite League clubs decided that this shared event was a shared event only for the EL teams and never mind the effect on everyone else including the guy trying to promote it!!

But maybe JC has also resigned because the future for the sport looks bleak in his eyes? I for one think this too. Perhaps he thinks the BSPA is about to implode with accusations and Counter accusations flying around in the light of a catalogue of badly handled press releases and decisions like the farce surrounding the Team GB boss appointment and the "appointment process" ? Maybe he is deeply concerned about the future of our sport and has been trying to call an EGM to discuss it and maybe this plan has been scuppered? I don't know

What I do know is that the dinosaurs in the BSPA will drive this sport into the ground and there are only a few people out there who do understand what we the fans want to see, and it's not in-fighting, back biting and point scoring (except on the track). Maybe Jonathan finally feels that all his effort has been for nought and he is finally defeated. If so it's a sorry day for Speedway. I wouldn't trust most of the BSPA to run a bath!!

sorry but who ever it is he or she cant be any worse.

it will be an improvement just to know how teams qualify and to know why teams are seeded, thats all i ask of anybody new

ok not just the PL pairs but all of them.

Anyway the reasons why JC has quit are within shooting star's post in the EL pairs section. It seems Jonathan may have quit because he can't get his own way, but can you blame him after being promised all of the decision making?

There are obviously some deep problems with the governing body of our sport as JC is the third person to quit a high profile job this season already and we are only in the second week of April. The sooner an independant body who actually have a clue takes over British speedway the better.

The reason JC quit are not in shooting starts post

where does it say that he was promised full decision making powers, a bit much to ask for when you are in charge of every other promoters money as well as your own dont you think?

wouldnt want anyone in charge of whether i make money or not with having a say in matter, would you?

anyway its over now and as i said all i want from who ever organises it in the future is more openess about qualification etc as i have already said, not much for sppedway fans to hope for is it, or do you think not knowing the line up for the pairs until a fews days before the meeting, and of course a few days after the programme was printed, is good for speedway and its supporters?

Whoever is in charge will not please some fans any of the time, they will always find something to whine about, always nit-pick about really insignificant things.

If you are that curious as to why he quit maybe you should take time out and ask him in person the next time KL are riding at your home track. :)

The reason JC quit are not in shooting starts post

'As regards the Super 7 series, JC claims that last year he was given overall control of the series and that this year the 'top of the BSPA' seem to want to take the running of it and the power back to themselves, but I wasn't going to put my name to that'. He resigned because he put a lot of hard work and energy into it, and he didn't want to put his name to something that he didn't have control over. He says that the events of Saturday vindicated his decision and it's hassle he can do without'

Its there in blue and white. There is no reasoning with you because you are choosing not to see what is there in front of you, which is a shame.

I cannot sit here and say JC is perfect because he is nowhere near but your constant criticism of a man you obviously cannot stand is not subjective and to be honest is becoming rather tiresome.

I hope the new super7evens director carries on the good work where JC left off.

Totally agree!! The fans may not have the money to run the sport as such but they do throw thousands of pounds per week at it and on the whole care a great deal about their clubs and the riders ..................

You've obviously read his e mails then?

dont believe too many people outside of Kings Lynn will be too bothered by JC deciding to step down

whilst he has had some ideas , i am afraid too many have been half baked , not properly thought out and certainly at premier league level the qualification system/ or not has been a complete farce remember craig watson being allowed to ride for glasgow last year without riding for them while other clubs werent even allowed in

to organise any competition , full rules and regulations need planning well in advance and too often JC threw toys from the pram when anyone dared to criticise the shambles he had arranged with the asistance of the Bungling BSPA

JC and BSPA a match made in heaven !!!!!

Birmingham top the Premier Trophy Group C, but have only completed 2 full meetings. As Heat 15 results count towards deciding who goes through to the Premier Pairs Final will the committee come up with a new ruling, or does this make a good case for Birmingham being awarded the wild card spot as Somerset seem certain to qualify automatically.
